Has anyone ever notice how wierd it is that certian things can trigger memories. You probs wont get what i mean so i will give an example.
Ok right
You mum dad or someone who know you whe you were a baby is trying to explain a teddy bear or piece of clothing and you just cant remember it. Untill they say a certian word or colour then you remember. Or even when you look at a picture you remember EVERYTHING about it.
Just wondering if anyone else gets me.....:blush2:

I love when you smell something and a memory comes back to you suddenly.. like i have one of these pillows with cherry stones in it which you heat up to help cramp or a sore stomach and whenever I smell that I just remember sitting on the computer ill one day playing the sims!! and it always comes back to me.
And when my boyfriend works away he writes letters to me (old romantic eh) and he sprays his aftershave in it and the first time he did it i didnt know and while reading it the smell just hit me and then i burst out crying cos i missed him so much and i have never felt such a rush of emotions from a hidden smell so much in my life.
Smells always get my memories back more than description :flowers:

I know exactly what you mean. It usually is something which brings back a bad memory, like my father or grandma/grandad dying for just three examples.
Runs to cry :bawling:

Thanks annie
It does bring back the worst kind of memories sometimes when I remember certain incidents which occured when my dad/grandad & grandma were alive and also a close friend who was knocked down in a car accident

My grandparents (father's side) died when I was about 3, so I don't remember them at all...but I have small memories of their house and the smells of it...I guess at a young age you're more aware of smells, sounds, sights etc. rather than social interaction.
