AN ex-con and mother of five has emerged as one of this year’s brightest prospects for X Factor stardom.
Londoner Rachel Hylton, 26, overcame years of crime and crack cocaine to wow the judges with a pitch-perfect version of Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good.
The wannabe was brought up in care and became pregnant with her first child aged TWELVE. She went on to have a further four children all by different fathers.
Some were taken into care after Rachel was sent to prison. Two still live with her.
She tells the judges on Saturday’s show: “I’ll be honest — I’ve been involved in drugs and been to prison. But I just want to make a better life for me and my kids.”
Her performance mesmerises Simon Cowell, who declares: “I absolutely love her. I want to give this girl a second chance.”

She was mentioned on this morning "this morning"
She won't be winning then. Those they always tip to win never get it, remember last years "soldier" anyone? He got kicked out after about 3 live shows (Andy).

Andy wasn't the solider. The solider didn't even make it past boot camp. I think the soldiers name was Ryan.

An ex con with 5 kids with 5 different fathers, her first "sprog" at just 12.
I bet she gets all the high notes just about perfect after all those births.
As for winning, I hope people have better things to do with there money than vote for another waste of space in socierty and make another one some sort of "star"
I'm sure he was a soldier though?
This morning Dermot & Holly said that this years show was a lot lighter than previous series' and that there were less sob stories.

Yeah, I remember last year they said that soldier from Wales would do well, but he never even made it to boot camp. I expect this will be a similar scenario.

If she's got the talent then I don't have a problem with her winning.

I've heard her mentioned on the x factor interview vids on Digital Spy as well as that boyband that's been mentioned. But she sounds like she;s trying to be Amy Winehouse voice wise. I hope that she's more unique then she sounds as an artist.

Nope.
Andy got the tattoo on his bum :]
The soldier was given the chop at Boot Camp after ruining Somewhere Over The Rainbow [I thinkk]
I don't mind this woman winning if she's talented, and unique.
We don't really need another Amy Winehouse as we have loads already.
After Leona+Leon, who are pretty much carbon copies of Mariah/Christina/Whitney+Michael Buble, I want a unique winner this year.
Though, I never get what I want with reality TV. lmao.
I dont know how they can say this when they haven't started boot camp yet? And if they have then they have only just started. I remember that the judges houses doesnt happen until the first week of september because the person I knew missed the first week of college to go to it.

Charming.
She was brilliant tonight, you must admit, but last year or the year before, did one contestant not get thrown out because they had a criminal record? Or is that some other show?
No it was last year! That girl in Hope, then they chucked her out! :/
I thought she was great. Quite a unique voice.

Criminal records are allowed as long as there is no outstanding punishment. Her from Hope still had some community service to do or something.

She got pregnant at 12 and then had the child when she was 13.
Just makes you think how crap her parenting was though if she was able to do that.
Hopefully she has learnt from her mistakes and making sure her kids dont do the same. I think she is very brave for even trying though. I really liked her last night.
