Do you recycle ?

Okay. For the last year or so now my family have been recycling tins, bottles and paper, but now i feel guilty, thats right GUILTY if i put something in the bin that i should have recycled. Do you think the government has brainwashed us to recycle ? and do you do it ?

I recycle the same as you do.

I have a green wheely bin for garden stuff and cardboard.

I have a blue wheely bin for paper

I have a bottle box for bottles and cans which I wash out so it doesn't end up stinking too bad

Then I have a wheely bin for non-recyclable rubbush.

You are probably right about what the government is doing to us as a nation. Naturally scaring us plenty with all this talk about global warming and greenhouse gases

My family has just started recycling because its only just come to the area... but I agree I feel so guilty when I put cans in the normal bin now haha.

But its all for the best really.

We do pretty much the same and with the main rubbish as well. We've got a recycling bin but we hardly ever use it.

I think people have been brainwashed into recycling but it is the only way
i don't recycle and never will because I don't care for the environment and the future of the planet
Bad attitude? Probably yes but I have better things to do or think about then recycle. People annoy me who care too much for the planet and future generations, you have a short life live it, enjoy it because you wont have another one.

Agree pretty much 100%

I don't think its as bad as they're making out, and inevitably its going to happen anyway so IMO in a way its good to find alternatives and just let nature take its course.

I don't feel guilty if I don't recycle something cos I recycle what I can,but if its raining I'm not gonna go outside just to put something in the recycle bin! Its better to reduce and reuse anyways.

I wouldnt say brainwashed to some extent. The counsil sent out recyle bins. We do recycle more than we used to, which i think is a good thing. I like to think we're doing something good.

Isn't recycling good? It helps the environment. I don't know about brainwashed but we are definitely conditioned to recycle though personally I don't see why that's such a horrible thing.

Brainwashed, no, well i've not been, i've been an avid recycler for many years well before the door step collections started, as far as i'm concerned its the sensible thing to do xx

I am not affected by it since I do not recycle, it's all crap for me. Some people are paid for it, we pay enough taxes to make them doing the job so I can't see why I should be bothered.

I recycle because I care about the planet and the way in which we live

You do know, what you put in the wrong bin, is sorted into the right category at the end of the day?

Exactly, it's a waste of time to do so and I feel pity for those who try to make people feel like **** and guilty if they don't.

I find bottle banks hilarious where people think they're going to go to prison or something because they've put a brown bottle in with the green ones, but they don't realise that glass bottles get smashed up and re-dyed anyway.

And I currently have 8 plastic water bottles in the bin with no intention of recycling any. The world is hardly going to stop is it?
