View Full Version : How much time do you spend with your pet

I work a lot and I have a dog and a rabbit, both of which I'd love to spend more time with. Well not so much the rabbit, as it's not so easy getting close and I don't want to get mistaken for a carrot or something  I have been bitten by her, ouch
But my dog I would love to take out more and play with him with his doggy-pull and other toys. Take him for long walks where he could meet other dogs and might even find himself a girl/bitchfriend, that would be nice for him. I doubt he'd spend too much time thinking of anything else except mounting her, you know how dogs are like. Especially male dogs who are in need of a good bitch (thats a female dog by the way), just in case you think I'm being rude.
I also worry about that desease Palvo I think it's called. I believe it can be very nasty and kill your dog. I'm not sure whether cats can get it or even rabbits come to mention it, but I guess I must get down the vet and get that sorted.
Anyone else spend too little time with their pets or do you spend most of your life enjoying their company while they do yours

i used to spend a fiver for my fishes...
I spend a fair amount of time with my pet cat, she's become really fragile and timid since she lost her eye in a fight (she'd never been in one before as well, it really knocked her confidence) so she just sleeps a lot, she's scared of the hoover, ironing board and she miaows at you until you come watch her eat her food. Ahh she's just so pathetic and lovable, but in a weird "we've been through a lot" sort of way.
..and I'm not a creep, by the way. Heh.

SO much. I show my cat so much affection. My cat usually sleeps on my bed, and as my computer is near my bed I just sit and stroke it.
My cat wont leave me alone, I dont like stroking her because she is never satisfied she always gives me a dirty look so I shoo her away

An awful lot!
I'm sure alot of you know how much I love my doggies !
Sky and Tay are outdoor dogs though, so when its raining I prefer staying inside.. but we have like an over hang thing.. so I just go under there and play with them :)
Tasha is indoor, and she has a thing about it being ball time 24/7!
So when Ive had enough of chasing he round, I sit on ma laptop on the sofa, and throw the ball through to the conservatory or kitchen.. and then she brings it back!
I send like raelly short messages on MSN, because she nudges me and whimpers if I don't throw it for her! ::dog:

I have two guinea pigs called Gucci and Prada - I bought them one day randomly cos I felt sorry for them. I used to play with them all the time but then I was always working so I gave them to my mum and dad and they look after them like lil babies! They spend about 2 hrs a day with them.
I think its cos they cant look after me and my brother anymore though. they are still trying to parent something! haha
Bless :pat:

I easily spend roughly 2 and a half hours a day petting my cat and playing with him and feeding him and drying him. He's so fat and lazy he won't even lick himself when he comes in from the rain :( But I love him and he's got more personality than a few humans I know...
But he wakes me up at like 5.30 every morning meowing in my face, and he doesn't shut up until about 11pm
