BIG Brother legend Jade Goody has cervical cancer, it was revealed last night.

The reality TV star, 27, received the bombshell news as she was appearing in the Indian version of the Channel 4 show.

Mum-of-two Jade who shot to fame in BB3, was said to be devastated after hearing tests proved positive for the disease.

She was called into the Diary Room and told of the findings by her consultant.

Jade then ran out in hysterics and made a tearful announcement to her housemates that she had cancer.

She was immediately withdrawn from the show and was being flown home for treatment last night.

The star had undergone hospital tests earlier this month after her third cancer scare.

It followed four mystery collapses.

But she decided to go into the Indian programme, called Bigg Boss, to try to make amends for the race storm during last year’s Celebrity Big Brother.

It is being hosted by Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, 33, who was allegedly racially abused by Jade in the 2007 series.

A close friend said last night: “She was called into the Diary Room and spoke to her agent, then her consultant in the UK.

“She burst into tears and ran out and said to her housemates, ‘I have cancer’.

“Jade was then led out of the house and she is coming back to England to see another consultant.”

Jade’s spokesman said: “She went for tests and results have come back and she has cancer.”

There was mystery last night over whether the footage would be screened.

Jade, from Upshire, Essex, was previously tested for bowel cancer in 2006 and ovarian cancer in 2004, but was given the all-clear both times.

You can't treat cancer if it's developed too much, no matter how much money you have.

She has children, and to suggests she deserves to get a potentially fatal disease is frankly rather sick.
they can treat her then, as they'v found out early

Oh,no you can. It just depends on ow far the disease has spread, or if it has taken over vital organs.
They have chemotherapy and other treatments.

She just has to be lucky! Wish her the best!

Even if they discover it early there are chances they can't treat it. It depends how far it's developed, and it can develop fast in a short amount of time.

Chemotherapy makes you physically exhausted, sick (violently so, constantly excruciating vomiting and stomach wrenches). You sleep for hours a day, and when you're awake you're sick. Your hormones change and your mood changes, you feel upset easier and feel pain moreso.

This is the case a lot of the time in chemotherapy, not always as constant.

Yes, from the constant vomiting the bile tears the stomach lining and the oesophagus which can lead to painful infections throughout the body.

I'm not saying this is always the case, but a lot of the time. It's definitely not an easy ride or a quick treatment.

All that you have said is true, including this, I've been through it, and never again its demoralising and with slow if any signs of positive results.

Its that bad, I won't put myself through it again despite my cancer which despite surgery still hasnt cleared.
I hope and pray that Jade/anyone else dosnt have to go through this agony where the treatment only makes you wish you were dead rather than the illness itself.

By refusing the treatments I have available, I know what outcome I'm destined for, but with no cure I'd rather be comfortable than put myself and my familly through the upset of the treatments, personally I'd rather die with some dignity.
I really hope Jade has a strong and good back up of friends and familly she's going to need them more than anything right now.

All cancer is potentially critical.

Sorry, I don't mean to be patronising I just don't think you fully understand the extent to which this is a danger. It's not just a case of "Oh they've found it early, now she's getting treated. Sorted".

It is. she may well not need chemotherapy though. Speaking from the experience of a close family member and another friend, radiotherapy is not that bad, depending on where you have to have it.

But cancer is a horrible thing, mentally as well as physically. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Jade Goody has been diagnosed with cervical cancer, her spokesperson has said.

The reality TV star withdrew from the Indian Big Brother house, which she entered at the weekend, after learning the news.

She was reportedly called into the Diary Room, where her consultant passed on the results of tests she had taken earlier this month.

After running from the room in tears, the 27-year-old was led out of the compound and flown back to the UK for treatment.

The Sun quotes a friend as saying: "She was called into the Diary Room and spoke to her agent, then her consultant in the UK. She burst into tears and ran out and said to her housemates, ‘I have cancer’."

Her spokesperson said: “She went for tests and results have come back and she has cancer.”

Goody was previously tested for bowel cancer in 2006 and ovarian cancer in 2004, receiving the all-clear on both occasions.

This is also very true, although early diagnosis is extremely helpful (as with all illneses) there is no "certainties" of everything being magicly cured.
I was found to have cancer very early and took surgery in the hope of removing the original cause, only to have found (whilst under constant scrutiny) that the cancer has developed eleswhere, my only hope Jade is in that fortunate catergory where treatment can surpress the symptoms long enough for her to have a long and relatively problem free life.

The alternative to this is a dreadful and very scary scenario, which I would'nt wish on anyone, Jade is going to need a lot of help and be very very patient indeed, and pray all goes well, my heart goes out to her, poor woman:sad:

They have found it early in Jades case, indeed I'm surprised she flew out to India knowing this was likely after her earlier "cancer scares".

However without a cure for cancer, and knowing its potential danger one can never treat cancer as anything but a critical condition which can lay dormant or develop further and quickly at any stage, treatments only in effect slow the side effects down, but any illness without cure is critical.

Jade Goody's spokesman has rubbished claims that the star is exploiting her cancer diagnosis.

The reality TV star was taking part in the Indian version of Big Brother when she was told the news. She had joined the TV house in an attempt to make amends for her part in the Celebrity Big Brother race row.

Cynics have already suggested that all is not what it seems, however. Some critics have claimed that the extent of Goody's illness is being exaggerated in order to garner sympathy for the controversial star. Others have asked why she decided to join the show when she was awaiting the results of medical tests she had undergone earlier this month.

Spokesman Max Clifford told Metro Online: "Those people are very sad people. This girl has cancer. Full stop. That is exactly what it is, it is not pre-cancer, it is cancer in the neck of the womb."

He added: "I hope the people who doubt her never have to hear the news themselves one day. She had no idea. She went for a few regular tests and wouldn't have gone on it at all if she had known."

Goody announced that she wanted the Indian public to see a new side of her character as she entered the house at the weekend. She had previously provoked outrage in the country by describing Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty as "Shilpa Poppadom" and "Shilpa *******awallah" when they shared the Celebrity Big Brother house together in 2007.

I'm so sorry for you and your family having to face this horror. I HATE cancer, it has stolen several members of my family from me and from what I saw them go through I would make the same choice you have made. There's a point where you have to say enough and choose to live live what life you have with dignity and a quality of existence and I wish both for you, with love.

I'm so sorry for Jade, the life she has known to this point is over, no matter what happens she never be able to just go back to being the person she was before. I hope with treatment she has a good prognosis and is able to build a new life for herself and her family.

Thank you so very much, thats real nice of you to say especially when you hear of news of others like Jade being given the news it brings it all back to you, I've paid close attention to Jades predicament in the public eye, and I really think allegations of a publicity stunt really are dreadful, you cant label anyone with this.
Ive recieved 2 U2U messages for my post here, implying the same thing, what can I do? I have a right to an oppinion and use personal experience to show how difficult and real a problem Jades having, the thought I'd wish to gain sympathy is laughabble, and even if true to what gain, its not as if a few people being sorry is going to prolong my life, if it was hell I'd make 4 threads a day on the subject.

Jade would have made far more publicity STAYING in the house or not going, (i intially thought her going was odd) but, after thinking again what I would have done?
I would like Jade done the same life has to go on, untill another development makes you make a new descision, its exactly what Jade has done, and this I gurantee you is no stunt.
By staying in ths show she would have probably WON BB India, but to what gain? I'm much further advanced than Jade, I know I'm dying...... but for sympathy and publicity? nope I think I'd rather say I'd broke my leg or had the flu and at the back of my mind know i was going to survive for sure my next wedding aniversary and birthday both in May 2009, at the moment both look very unlikely, and believe me thats no stunt to say anything like that if not the truth.

:flowers: i dont know what to put!

Unfortunately, I think that some people who are lucky enough not to have been touched by cancer in their lives have no real concept of how utterly distructive it is and some apparantly haven't the empathy to imagine. Try to ignore the thoughtless messages you received and stay positive, no one knows what the future may hold, in my prayers you have a wonderful birthday and toast to the future with your husband next May. May it be so.

Poor Jade, but hopefully they have caught it at an earlier time.

On a shallow thought, I think puplic perceptions of her will change lots now.

I actually feel sorry for the people who sent those messages, neither were insulting just completly misguided and I'm sure will be regretted one day by the people who sent them.

Thanks for your lovely thoughts, and yes I will strain every last breath I can to make it to my 25th aniversary that is my only real goal in life now, the rest is all a bonus:kiss:

I really hated sitting listening to her crying so hard. It made me feel so much worse for her, especially when she was surrounded by healthy people. I hope she recovers well :)

FRIENDS of cancer-stricken Big Brother star Jade Goody told of her terror last night.

Jade, 27, was said to be “very upset and frightened” as she flew home to London.

The reality star arrived at Heathrow in tears after the flight from Mumbai where she discovered her cancer bombshell during India’s BB-style TV show.

Jade, who returned for cervical cancer treatment, sobbed: “I don’t want this any more, I cannot do this.” Earlier her publicist Max Clifford said: “She’s very upset and frightened as you can imagine.

“The most important thing is to get Jade back and get her with the right people so they can take care of her.”

Jade had tests at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Essex, earlier this month after mysteriously collapsing four times.

She was given the diagnosis in a call from her doctor in the Bigg Boss Diary Room on Monday, as The Sun reported yesterday.

In footage obtained by The Sun, she is seen running into the main house to tell contestants that she had been given “bad news”.

Jade sobbed: “I have cancer. It is bad, needs urgent treatment. I immediately need to go home.”

Jade then packed her bags before leaving the house. The scene was shown with her permission.

Jade knew there was “a strong chance” she had cancer before flying to India — but said she needed the £100,000 show fee to support her two sons.

Before entering the house, she said: “I know it sounds crazy, but I have to pay my bills.

“And if I do face cancer, I need to make sure I can support the boys.”

She even offered to go back on the show after surgery. Jade wanted to make amends for alleged racist jibes at Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007. Jade had been on Bigg Boss — hosted by Shilpa — for just a day.

The Bollywood star, 33, said that she wished Jade a “speedy recovery” and hoped to visit her. Shilpa added: “I pray she comes out of this soon and stronger.”

Cervical cancer is the second most common form of the disease in females under 35. Around 3,000 women are diagnosed each year in the UK — but the prognosis is good if it is caught early.

Last night Sun readers left messages of support for Jade on our online forums.

Jaylo1 said: “So sorry Jade but you’re strong enough to come through.”

And 88Iceman88 wrote: “It seemed she was about to turn her life around.”

If everyone found it so upsetting watching the footage of Jade, then why did you watch it?????!!

I feel sorry for anyone who has to go through this - I have had experience of it in my family and it is just a horrible awful thing.

Just watched the videos Aaron posted.

I am not sure whether its a good or a bad thing that they showed it, but its really hard to watch so I couldnt watch it all.

And to the person who said 'maybe its just to make India like her'. Those tears are real. The most genuine tears ive ever heard in Big Brother history. You can hear the panic in her voice.

That man who was next to her was lovely to her aswell. Really nice people in that house.

I haven't watched it - I don't think it should be shown on tv either. Some people (I'm not referring to people on here) will just watch it to be ghoulish - and who wants to see someone getting news like that?

On another note, reading the quote from Max Clifford in an earlier post almost made me fall off my chair in shock - the thought of Max Clifford lecturing people on their morals!! Talk about pot and kettle.

I would not wish cancer on anybody, no matter how little I thought of them, as I have stated previously. However, I still believe that Jade is a vile person. Nasty people get cancer too. I also don't like the way that this is being turned into a career boost for her - how many more soundbites and articles and interviews are we going to see?

I sincerely hope she makes a speedy recovery - but I won't be fooled into thinking she is a nice person all of a sudden. And remember - the sad fact is, that 1 in 3 people will get cancer. We don't all have the opportunity to use it to boost our profiles.
