Why does Darnell sook right up Rex?

Darnell constantly sooks up to Rex,why? He has just said on live that he hopes Rexs wins and he comes second.

I like Darnell but I think he's too eager to be friends with people who he hardly knows and sometimes he shows very poor judgement in who he aligns himself with. I preferred Darnell when he refused to fit in to any group.

I think most of the HM's actually like Rex, even when he's being rude, so I think most of the HM's except Lisa and Mikey suck up to Rex.
