View Full Version : Promote an Artist/Band!

There are loads of artists/bands making music all over the world.
&as we all know, it's easy to get heard, with sites like myspace and youtube allowing artists to share their music.
Personally, I'm not a fan of much mainstream/chart music and prefer finding new artists/bands that aren't that famous but produce good music.
I've made this thread so people can suggest new bands/artists on the web for others to check out. I'll definitely give everyone a listen.
Might just discover the next big thing.
I'll start the thread off with my favourite band, Porcelain And The Tramps.
They're Industrial/Rock, and Alaina Beaton's working on the debut album. Check them out;;

Don't like the first. In fact, I remember the artist posting it and couldn't handle the criticism. Bad attitude.
No music on the second so can't comment.
Haven't searched the other two yet.
I'll check those out David_Purdy.
I really like Dan Black (http://www.myspace.com/danblacksound) atm =] His cover of Hypnotize is brill, and samples Rihanna.

Maybeshewill. Instrumental band getting some good reviews. Excellent live as last nights show confirmed.

Tanacity? Experimental duo. currently working on other things.

And finally,
Tired Irie. Destined for big things. EMI have tried to sign them. NME like them as does Steve Lemaq (sp)

Tegan & Sara!!!! Why are they never promoted in UK???? Every other country in world seems to have heard of them and likes them!!
'Walking With A Ghost' is a legend of a song, even The White Stripes Covered it (not as good as T & S version or anywhere near)
Also Alanis Morissette - Her new album 'Flavors of Entanglement' is a damn fine piece of music genius. Check them out before dissing them

anyway - Marina and the Diamonds. [it's just Marina really, the 'diamonds' are her fans.] She's beginning to gain popularity now, but I discovered her months ago.
