They're absolutley fantastic, my favourites but groups don't win mainly due to lack of focus on one person or a sob story IMO.

$sure were good, it was 2 seasons ago, but the week they got eliminated, they stunk! They went home deservedly! I was more upset last year, I dont remember their name, but there was a group with twins, adn their best friend. That was my favorite act, but they didnt make it to the live show because the judges had to put Hope and Futureroof through (their makeshift losers bands).

Not sure why. I think she is underated. She is this years Nicky. Nicky was 2nd least fave before the first show, and then after Show 4, she became fave for 2 weeks or something, and lasted a long time.

She doesn't have a sob story, she doesn't even havea regional vote, she's one of the performers that will only get through on good performances, whereas Austin and the likes would get through on a below par performance, but Ruth won't.

I think Ruth will be last Over 25 left standing. Rachel had so much hype, but I think she could lose her appeal.

I think it will be GB and Daniel in the bottom 2 next week, with Daniel going home. But I think JLS are also at risk.

Austin won't go for a long time. Eoghan has NI behind, similar to Philip in 2005. Eoghan wont go for a few weeks yet. Scott will be the one that improves along the way and people will want to watch his journey.

From the girls - Laura is the fave, but that isnt always a good thing. The week 1 fave has never gone on to win TXF. I think people will enjoy seeing Diana and Alexandra learn and grow along the way while Laura is already near her peak I think.

Groups will never win win. It's just too difficult for them to appeal to the public in a 2 min performance.

The mature voters, will more likely go for a maturer singer like her or Daniel, that is why they are in the competition still.

The Diva vote, as Ben already said, is by women and gay men and is essentially voting for a gay icon. I wouldn't say Alexandra was one, but I would say Ruth was.

I just can't actively see who would pick up the phone to vote for her, adding to her minimal coverage she's had throughout the show. She's like Alisha, she will only get through on a good performance, imo anyways.

I know. I fear the public will get bored of Diana's quirkiness and unusual voice like they do with Singers (look at Anastacia, Macy Gray, Alanis Morissette, Kate Nash, Lily Allen etc)

If you can't read them, little tips for you :joker:

If its just a number, for example 8, just stick a /1 after it so it becomes 8/1, then to read them, if you think of it as a sum and divide the first number by the second number, so 8/1 would stay at 8, 7/2 would become 3.5 etc. The closer to zero they are the more chance of winning they have :tongue:

It depends if she ups her game or not though. Girlband never upped their game and found themselves out of the competition the following week.

It also depends if she was actually that liked in the first place and wasn't just escaping the bottom 2 each week.

I think Diana is going to become a victim of a "everyone else will vote for her so I'll vote for someone else" type mentality. Shes going to be here for a bit though, Laura will be out first in that category.

Yeah the bookies is only based on how much money is bet on each person, not the popularity.

Look at Laura, she had odds of 66/1 to go (meaning they thought there was a very, very low chance she would go) and she went!! They got that wrong, and I bet that cost them a fortune.

I actually didn't think Laura would be in much longer, though I actually suspected she'd be out the next week...just a £1 bet would have got me £66! I should have bet on it!

Something interesting is that the person who gets called through last is chosen for one of two reasons:

* It is a shock that they are through, as you would think they would be in the bottom 2 (Scott week 1, Daniel week 5)

OR

* They are a favourite who is near the bottom 2, and it is a way of making it seem as though they are near the bottom 2 & tries to provoke more votes for them next week (Austin week 2, Austin week 3, Laura week 4)

So it's something to watch for next week if anyone is thinking of making a bet...

Alternatively, the first two performers every week are in the bottom two unless any of the first two performers already have a big enough fanbase so that it doesn't matter where they are in the show, from week 3 onwards anyway:

Week 3 ; Scott & Daniel (performed 1st & 2nd)
Week 4 ; Rachel & Austin (performed 1st & 2nd)
Week 5; Ruth & Laura (performed 2nd & 3rd)

Eoghan performed 1st in week 5, but avoided the bottom 2; this leads me to believe that he is one of the front runners in the voting. Using all this stuff, I think come next week, in between the two shows, it could be useful in making some good bets...

Also, does anyone have the odds from last night, in between the two shows? Was Laura more of a favourite to go then, or was it a complete shock for the bookies?
