rex on diary room uncut.......rachel

Rex in DR uncut spoke about Rachel, regarding her happy personality, and that he believes she is from a disney movie (that was really funny), and then the most endearing part of this was when he said he would like to live where she is. Although he tried to say this in a sarcastic way, part of me believes that he regards her as someone he would like to know more in the outside world, and he may be either jealous on her outlok of life, or maybe he wishes he had girlfriend like her as she is much mature and is not hurt by his sarcastic jokes, and i think if they were to get hitched she would bring out the best in him, unlike nicole, who is a spoilt, selfish and high maintenance who is causing him to be ill and may end up being poor due to the amount of money he spends on her. I believe rex's story of nicole being ungrateful regarding a theatre they went to and she never appreciated the things he did for her, whereas Rachel i belive would have made sure she always said 'thank you' to show her appreciation..

I don't know what will happen once they leave the house, but they have sort of drifted apart in the last 3 weeks (most of this is due to cakegate and nicole's arrival), and i wonder if he will invite rachel to one of his restaurant (he did say several weeks ago that she and and her boyfriend will be invited to his restaurant, not sure if i heard it right).

Moving to the point.. do you think rex and rachel will be in contact. Their relationship is a very endearing one, one that i think has been genuine. I wish Kat would leave on tuesday, as i would like to see the last few days of rachel bonding with rex and others. I mean they were good frind once, whatever happended to their friendship. I honestly still believe there is a chemistry there, and mostly in rex's part than rachel as she has resigned to the fact that he is a control freak and that he admitted to not liking her (which i believe is not true as he is obsessed about her).

He is into trophy girls ... ie pop star attractive ... not 4 foot nothing munshkins with fairy dust in her pockets. How's he going to go to movie premiers with that on his arm? No disrespect but Rex is SHALLOW ... he picked on Rachel because he saw it as an easy way to make friends with those that hated her ..back when Bex and Co were around.
How do you explain his abuse toward her? ... it's a glaring omission on your part

I have always thought Rex had a soft spot for rachel, I have never seen him as a nasty person towards her at all, I think Rosie is right, he just cannot believe some of the way she acts, and though at times it frustrates him, at times i think he wishes he could be where she is in life! He has admited on more than one occasion he came in the house to "find himself", to "test himself", admiting he didn't like where his life was going.
Rachel, Rex,Darnell,Sara, Kat might be interesting final 5?

yeah I might be able to get onboard with that ... he may have this underlying feeling that all he has was given to him... reacts against it plus materialism and yurns for simlper things (RACHEL!!) but that don't gel with him being and out and out w@nker, bully and egotist. hehe so so deal!
His attacks on Rachel were pretty mercenary .. he did it once .. got a great reaction form Bex and co ... then did it loads more till Kat pulled him up. Save the "poor me" wondering soul trying to find himself analogies to "poor Darnell":tongue:

I couldn't agree more - I was about to post the same thing. Rex has done nothing but bully Rachel from more or less week 1 so why the heck would anyone think he likes her? Rex is so not into girls like Rachel - Steph maybe if she had stayed in the house - he seems to like skinny blondes with fake tan and hair extensions not little disney characters. I have never liked Rachel either - I can't stand the silly, little girl act that her and Kat put on - sick!

Sorry angie. Anyway, rex behaviour is more effected by the fact rachel does not let him or any other housemate into finding out more about her life. We know she has a boyfriend, was in beauty pageant, was a child actress etc, but it would be nice if she did speak up about them. Imagine she tells them she starred in afilm with hugh grant, and that he knows rachel very well, and also she was in the britain most fianciable woman contest and was speaking to lisa snowden. I wouldn't want her to drag on about these accomplishemnt to the extent rex did with his restaurant and how great his girlfriend (which we all know she is not great), but it should make good conversationa nd also make her an interesting character, but she chose to just listen to others, which can be irrirating to the point that she doesn't mind if others make a fool of themselves, as lomg as it is not her.

I hope they do sort out their differences soon, and as the numbers of housemate drops after tuesday, i think they both will not be able to avoid eachother. I wish they would talk as i can remeber the days when both were good friend, and it was before nicole entered the house and rex was really enjoying himself. I see some fo the late night conversation thye have, and i can see they have alot in common, both very hard-working in their life, and both have partners.

I think Rex likes Rachael and relationships can very often happen when you think they are incompactable. Opposites attract. I think they would make a good couple:love::flowers::angel:

more importantly, i think if nicole had not entered the house it would have been mre interesting to see where his and rachel relationship was heading as i do think he was smitten by her. I knew nicole coming in would ruin everything. The reason why this relationship was interesting is because both really like eachother, but they cannot do anything due to having partners. I think rex likes rachel moral outlook, he probably has respect for her in the fact she does not try to grab attention or expose her body. I mean did you see how easy it was for the rex, dale and stuart to ask rebecca to take her top off, and she did as they told. But if they asked rachel she would tell them where to go, because she will not be forced to do anything she is uncomfortable with.

I got to respect rachel for being careful and modest, and even she said to rex in one fo the DR uncut episode something along the lines of "we (meaing the ladies of the house) are not sex kittens for you guys", but then rex hits back at her saying she is as sexual as a slug.

do your think he would have said "I'd swap you for scrabble!" etc if he knew about all her film roles and connection etc. I think he still would have. The stuff makes no difference and certainly doesn't make her more interesting ( sorry ). What makes a person compelling is how they engage with the world .. she didn't fully engage with the hms... she always sat on the fence, cards to her chest .. Rex hated her for that most ...ie how non committal she was and that's not likely to change.

i think you made a really good point, but i do believe he is in doubts about rachel, on one hand he is very much wanting to know her and teases her to release alittle bit about her, but then on the other hand he does get aggravated towards her because she has so much to offer but decides to be reserved. I don't think he in anyway dislike or in his own word "passioned hate" for her, but rather frustration that himself and other HM have given alot of info about how their outside world is like, and rachel has not reciprocal this.

However, whenever rachel has spoken about her boyfriend i can see rex being quite interested, i.e. when she got her home video msg, he went into the room to speak to her about whether her family really likes her boyfriend, and what about when himself and mo were talking to rachel about her boyfriend, and mo said to rex that if he wants to bet that her boyfriend will dump her, and then rex said to mo that was a horrible comment. You see he has a good side, and if nicole had not entered the house, i think their relationship could have gotten further, but it would not have gone anywhere as rachel is mature enough to know she has a boyfriend in the outside and she has tremedous amount of self-control, but the banter/teasing would have still been there. Like she said to rex, the women in the house are not sex kitten for the men, and then he said something along the line that she is as sexual as a slug, which was a very cruel comment, but i think deep down he has a soft spot for her. It will interesting that once kat goes, how their relationship will be like. Maybe she will cling onto mikey more, but i trully believe kat does bring the worse in her, and out of the 2, rachel is more mature and menatlly stronger. You just have to see his face when he saw rachel boyfriend in that video msg, it really tell him what type of men she likes, and also her family surrounding, and the fact she said she lives in a close-knit community and family are really close, maybe rex wants a piece of this. I belive if they are still good friends in the outside world, she should invite him to wales and see alittle bit of welsh culture and vice-versa, and in that way both can learn from eachother, they both lack in what the other person has.
