I am semi-nocturnal (and no, I don't sleep hanging up-side-down!) After 30 years of strange hours and frequent 'on-call' nights I have a fairly ad lib sleep pattern.

No i haven't, i was told by a friend to put an ice cube in my mouth. But i'm not a Idiot & i'v ignored his advice? it would only make it worse.

The clove remedy is quite old - I remember it as a child.

Only works with whole cloves ....... not the ground variety

Ice (or a bag of frozen peas) wrapped in a towel and held against the jaw might help to reduce some of the inflamation and therefore the pain.
