View Full Version : Should Big Brother Scrap First Week Evictons?

In BB 1 and 2 there was never an eviction until the 2nd week, this way you got to know all the h/mates properly before casting votes to evict.
I'm surprised BB have not scrapped this yet as they have lost some memorable h/mates in the first week that would have been very interesting to see develop:
BB3: Lynne
BB4: Anouska
BB6: Mary (the scary witch lady)
BB7: Bonnie
BB9: Stephanie

Yeh I think they should all of the above housemates we didnt get to know.
Locke.

Yeah we should be given time to get to know all the Housemates before we evict one of them.

No, I like having an eviction each week. Also if they did this they'd have to add an extra week and I think it's too long already!
Friday should always have something happening.

All of them had to go though in order for the twist to work. Steph had to be up cos they couldn't keep that act up for two weeks, Bonnie had to go cos the Big Brotherhood was full, Shabnam actually got two weeks to be fair, Anouska had to go cos the twist was first impression nominations. So yeah, I'd like to see first week evictions go, but I'd like to see first weeks twists stay even more.

shabnam didnt get evicted till about week 2/3
Bonnie wouldn't have lasted.
And Shabnam survived two weeks since Emily was removed the first week.

I think they should do a shock midweek eviction on about day 11 because then the public know the HM up for eviction a bit better, although I did feel sorry for Steph this year because half of her time in there was pretending to be Mario's gf and she only had about 3 days as herself.

I think they should, 1 week is not long enough to get to know all the housemates.#
and it could save on bringing new housemates in half way through the series
hannah.

Yeah. It's so stupid because the public get rid of a potentially great housemate purely on first impressions, and most HMs change a lot throughout. Nobody's really how they would be later on in their first week

yes
week 2 first eviction please :(

They should be scrapped. You don't get to see what the person nis really like in just a week. I'm forever changing my opinion on housemates, and the first evicted housemate doesn't really get a chance.
Noooooo it makes good tv for the first week, without an eviction it gets well boring
BexButNotCovBex
11-09-2008, 07:41 PM
Yeah, but that's a potentially very good housemate gone.

yerh i think its a good i dea, but eviction in the first week aint that bad, afterall it kinda gives them the role of the person who had the shortest time in the house ^,^
and if they have more than 13 people in the house, then theyd have to do an eviction in the first week otherwise therd just be too many of them

Or they could just have a double eviction or something in the second week? I don't know, but i personally think it should be scrapped.

Yes. Either that or have the whole house up so we can get rid of the truely dull ones and try to feature everyone as much as possible in the highlight shows.
When they do the launch night twists it would be better if they climaxed the following Friday (if they can carry them on that long) so there is a live show each Friday. Then evictions start at the end of week 2 but stick them all up in a vote to save to get rid of any radar dodgers.
I prefer it when they all get a chance to bed in so we can get to know what people are really like not all based on first impressions

I agree actually. The public make their minds up after a few days for the girls. The girls get judge way before the boys, thats why a female is always evicted first.
Hopefully, by Week 2 we will know the housemates more than just after 1 week.

Yes they really should.
You need to know the housemates first for a full week, then we should be able to vote them out, otherwise we will still act irrational when it comes to dialling the phone. Like Anouska was the star of BB4, but people immediately phoned in their thousands to get her out on the first night and first few days, but afterwards, there was a U turn, but it was all too late.

yeah they should because then we dont really see much of them and dont really have that much of an opinion on them yet and could be evicting a good character!! and alll the housemate that come in like half way through get at least 2 weeks there !

They could start with a fake double eviction in week 1.
Which was how BB5 was supposed to start.

not a fan of fake evictions coughCHARLEYcough lol
anyways, i like an eviction in the first week....if someone is hated in week 1 chances are they wont be loved in week 2, so they would end up going anyways. and the way things are now there are WAY too many HMs each season so that would just be 1 more person in the finale or another double evico added in somewhere.
dont be a b***h in week 1 and you wont go, simple as that...keep the first week evictions!

I'm not sure but I'm certain Bonnie wouldn't of come far, she was an outcast of the group never did anything and was a completely different person to the woman we saw in her audition.

Bonnie didnt get her suitcase till the day before she was evicted, and that night she was totally different but it wasn't enough.
I love Bonnie :(

Yes, its kinda of annoying people like ben lucy and michelle only starting to become characters now maybe because they arent as outspoken as the rest people are already starting to call them boring though...

I dont like the first week eviction. Not enough time to form a real opinion. Especially last year, where it was obvious Stephanie would go, because she wasnt keen on pretending to like Mario, which wasnt really fair to her. If there wasnt a first week eviction, I think she was down to earth enough to last a very long time that series.
In the celebrity one ... no. A first week eviction in CBB is the equivalent of a week 4 eviction in normal BB.
In normal BB ... yes. They need time to bed in and in BB9 Stephanie was gaining momentum just as she was evicted but it was too late to save her.
If there is a pblic vote in the first week I'd rather it was for a fake eviction of some kind
EDIT: LOL I wrote practically the same thing on the first page :joker:

Steph did get screwed, i will give you that. But on a normal season where there are noms the firts week i think there should be an eviction week 1. Like i said above, dont be a bitch off the bat and you wont get nominated or evicted right away. Simple as. But ya Steph did get screwed....she never had a chance just because she was chosen for that role in the first week twist on BB9

yeah thats would be sm better!
because, imo, steph should NOT have gone out in the first week on BB9 man!
and yeah you dont get to know the HMs well enough.

Personally I'd launch the show on the Sunday, so the first Friday would probably be the first nominations, with the eviction then the next Friday.
There are plenty of things they can do on the first Friday instead of an eviction - going back to BB2 and we had the simple twist of a housemate being voted in, which is something which would work now, and mean we can hold back a housemate or two for a week and avoid sending too many in on launch night.

I wouldnt mind this idea...i just dont think they should go 14 full days before kicking someone out...and this would be a happy medium. i like it
