So what's your opinion on creation? Was it a big bang? Was it God/s? Do we need or want to know?

My personal opinion is that I don't have a clue what happened and I kinda think it should be left well alone as finding out could have ramifications for humankind. For instance If it was the Big Bang that created us, that would most likely destroy Religion and people's hopes for life after death and comforts for lost relatives. Sometimes false hope is better then none I think.

I also think it's kinda pointless finding out, how would it benefit us knowing? I think we should focus on the present and the future since I don't think looking to the past like that can help us much.

So what's your opinions?

i really do think the big bang theory is right though

the older i get the more think it's likely there aint a god

i completely believe in evolution

Yeah I think Evolution is a point that can't be argued with. I too fully believe in it. I think the Big Bang probably happened but on the subject of God I think that there isn't much point debating it as no one alive will ever know if there is a god or not.

The problems with the evolutionary scenario are numerous

1) How do you get something from nothing
2) How do you get the order we see, when the 2nd law of thermodynamics says everything goes to disorder (When did you last get a dictionary froman explosion in a print shop)
3) How do you get life started, when the evidence seems to be that the atmosphere on the primordial Earth had oxygen, which would have combined more easily with other compounds to produce oxides instead of the complex long chain moleculs upon which life depends?
4) How do you get one spiecies giving rise to another by genetic mutation, when all the mutations documented in nature are harmful and seleted against by Darwin's Natural selection.
5) What happened to the transitional forms Charles Darwin predicted
6) What of Lord Soley Zuckerman who spent 20 years on austrolopithicines, who said, "If mankind has evolved from the apes, then he has done so without leaving a trace in the fossil record"

When I look at the evidence I see certain problems with Evolutionary theory glossed over due to some undeclared agenda.

If evolution is shown to be flawed, that leaves us by default with the other game in town, creation

When people begin to flaw the Evolution theory, (Theory meaning that we dont know everything about it) and they start to bring up the idea of God. But if you are gonna start asking "How did something come from nothing" then I can spin the idea right back on to God, where did "God" come from? If you are going to say he has always been around and he has been here forever, then So has the universe!

What's to say there even needs to be a start to it? Maybe there never was a start to the universe, maybe its just always been here. I believe the evolution theory, as patchy as the theory is... it makes sense. Its very confusing though! I remember trying to learn it in high school and I just couldnt get my head around the idea of evolution.

And also Dezzy... you would be suprised how close we all are to proving their are no gods. Once this experiment happens on the 10th and we find out something (Although no one is sure what) we could have all the evidence to prove their is no god. (Although religious people still wont believe it as they are very stubborn people)

God is eternal, he's always been there and always will be. I'm a bit religious but I don't buy into the creation story purely because of the fact humans haven't always been here, and in the Bible Adam & Eve were put on the Earth at some point in the first week.

I agree with the big bang theory, although its worth noting that all of the "ingredients" will have had to come from somewhere, which I think is where quantum physics comes in. I don't believe anything has always just been "there".

i think the ''Big Bang'' is what scientists made up to fool themselfs that they knew everything. I dont think there was a big bang. I think everything has always existed - it HAS to - otherwise there would have been nothing to create the big bang in the first place.

Thats not true, given the right conditions particles can be made from nothing.

If we didn't find those dinosar bones we woud'nt have even known about them so **** knows how the world was first created or anything like why we are here. thje bible says things like god created us all so maybe thats true. to be honest i don't give a ****. i'm alive and living in watford and if i die then thats just fate.

I don't believe in anything religious, so I will go down the scientists route
It could be the big bang or it could be something else like that which we haven't thought of yet. Hopefully after Wednesday we will learn more about the big bang theory.
Its a hard question which we will never know the answer to but when we die we will at least know that religion wasn't how it was all created

This is one of the statements I find is most annoying when religious people use it. It's used without any sort of explanation in something that isn't possible within our realms of existence, along with all the other impossible scientific 'miracles' that god and jesus got up too. Turning water into wine, rising from the dead after being killed. We are just supposed to assume these all as fact because they were written in a book several thousand years ago by hundreds of different people. Even with all the technology we have nowadays we cannot bring a man back to life, but 2000 years ago, god managed it fine. When I think about it I think of it in a time process. Being dead is a boolean state of existence, you are either alive or you aren't.
As soon as people talk about evolution, religious people are quick to knock it down as "how does something come from nothing". There is a large amount of double standards going on.

Evolutionists are constantly working on, and spending millions/billions on tests to put their beliefs into 'fact'. While no-one in our lifetime will ever know which is correct, I'm siding with the people who are experimenting, testing and putting some sort of scientific explanation out there about how we came about. I'm not siding with those who have imaginary friends in the sky.
