Anybody out there watched every single series of BB as well? I know there are a lot of new fans of BB from like series 5/6 onwards.. but I just wanna discuss with the 9 year fans how they feel Big Brother is going after the early stages 1,2,3,4. Anyone is welcome to post in here if they like, but I was aiming towards a particular niche of the TiBB members.
I think personally BB in the early years was so good, exciting and fresh - the twists back then seemed so much more shocking and exciting. Even the housemates seemed much more likable and fun. The new Big Brother's have lost those qualities and I am easily getting bored with them. Do you guys prefer the earlier Big Brothers to the new ones?
BB 1,2,3 are IMO the best ever series' of Big Brother and 8,9 have been a bit of a flop to me.

Discuss :)

Awesome, I don't mean anything bad by this but the new, younger audience are hard to talk to when it comes to comparing and discussing the history of BB cos they haven't seen the earlier series'

I have. Was 16 when first one started and I loved it. Anna and Caroline made that series for me.

The worst Big brothers have been 4 (the dullest ever) and Big brother 8 (it was just bland)

The first eviction was between Sada and Caroline (Sada went)

The second was Andy vs. Caroline (Andy went)

Me, I was so young back then (about 8 I think). Out of all the earlier ones BB2 was my favourite. I've watched them all in full apart from BB4 which was rubbish so I only watched that for 2 weeks and I missed a lot of bits of BB8.

Me, I can remember my Dad saying a couple of weeks before the first one started that he'd read in the paper that there would be a program starting where several people would be filmed 24/7 in a house. I replied 'Sounds Boring,' little did I know 9 years on it would be one of my favourite programs.

Personally I thought BB1, 2 and 3 were brilliant.

4 was obviously Boring

5 was where it became trashy TV as far as I'm concerned with all the freaks in it but it was still a great series.

6 was my favourite series ever. Science is my favourite housemate ever. Him beating Maxwell was priceless.

7 I didn't like. Pete was always going to win, alot of freaks were in it again. I hated Nikki. I hated them putting Nikki back in. I hated Grace. One of only two that I switched off and stopped watching part way through, although I did watch the final few days.

8 Boring start with all females. Boring Carole. Over focus on Chiggy. I lost interest and switched off, although again I did watch the final few days.

9 Back on track. One of my favourites behind BB6. Relatively normal housemates. All the people I wanted evicted got evicted. Plenty of tasks which BB had been lacking in BB7 and 8.

I'm still as interested in the main show now as I have ever been but I find Davina and the eviction interviews in particular tiresome.

The interviews seem flat and we already know the answers to alot of the questions asked nowadays. I know who the evicted person liked or didn't like and I know how they felt about this twist and that twist, I've been watching for god knows how many weeks. They're just too predictable and Friday night is the worst show of the week for me.

Plus Davina needs to stop Gurning.

I've never really watched that much BBLB but of what I saw this year it is past it's sell by date. Time for something new.

I used to prefer BBBM to the highlights show when Russell Brand was at the helm (although I realise he is a love or hate kind of guy). The past two years though the show has been terrible. Terrible Presenters. Less focus on the crowds opinion which was what the show used to be about. Too many rubbish sketches for my taste.

That said it's a show I watch mainly because I'm at home most nights. If by next year my social life has increased to the point where I'm hardly ever in, I wouldn't miss the show much.

I watched it from the start & I have to say it just depends on the housemates ...I don't necessarily think earlier are better than later or vice versa.

BB5 was the best by far BB4 was the worst by far.

I think the only reason why the latter ones seem a bit pants is because now everyone knows exactly what fame & money they can get from it so it's a little contrived!!

The earlier ones had normal down to earth people whereas the later ones have fame hungry idiots.

That's why I think BB really worked this year as it got normal people in who are nice but also real & they didn't't mess too much with the formula. Head of House was excellent & really added a new dimension to the show.

BB9 is def up there with the best of them.

I'm getting on a bit.

BB1 Good
BB2 Good
BB3 Good
BB4 Dreadfall
BB5 OK
BB6 OK
BB7 Very Good
BB8 Crap
BB9 Excellant because Rachel won (Gloat, Gloat)

Ive saw BB3 onwards to BB9 (Excluding Teen BB, CBB2 & BB:CH which didn't look to good) casually. I watched BBBM from BB5 when I think it was called E4ORUM until the end of CBB5 almost as much as the actual main shows lol but when Russell left I gave up watching. Never really watched any of the other spin offs or live ect.

Out of them either BB3/5/6 were the best and BB7 was the worst.

I've watched them all and the first few were alot better as it was all new and exciting and now they seem to be using the same tasks sort of esepically with the rich poor divide seen in BB3, CBB5 and BB9

I've been there from the start.

The first series was fascinating, when they didn't have a clue how it would be seen, but I think it has evolved, and even though they are all completely savvy these days, it's still strangely similar to the first series.

You just forget the cameras, it seems, no matter how much you have seen the series.

I've watched religiously since BB5. However, I watched bits of BB2, watched all of BB3 (from week 2 onwards) and I watched a little bit of BB4. BB3 is my second favourite series, but I have no doubts that it would be my favourite if some channel was to repeat it. I was about 12 or 13 when it was on, so I didn't really get everything that was going on. I still say I'm a viewer from the start though even though I missed BB1 purely because BB1-4 is a different programme to BB5-9.

I have watched since the start, and really enjoyed BB1. However BB2 was my favourite by a mile, and in my opinion will never be matched for housemates.
It had entertainment 24/7 from Brian, assisted at various times by Narinder and Bubble. It had the first ever romance between Helen and Paul, it had the wisdom of Dean and Elizabeth. It had it's arguments, it's tears, it's accidents, and nudity. It also had some of the best tasks ever on Big Brother.

The housemates just didn't rely on Big Brother to keep them and us entertained either, they did it themselves, and as a group.
They ate together, they chatted together, they sang together.

Every one of the housemates contributed to make it a brilliant series, borne out by the highest final viewing figures and the highest number of votes ever for a winner with 4.3 million. Everyday switching on the live feed was like meeting up with a bunch of friends.

The live feed coverage has never been bettered either with a choice of 4 screens to watch. - 2 different live feeds and two delayed feeds. Online you could vote each day which housemate you would like the webcam to follow all the next day.

It had a series of BBLB that was a pleasure to watch, where every night you got to see behind the scenes, what was being planned, and they chatted with the producers. Great eviction nights where Davina used to chat to the families in the studio while waiting to announce the result, and the families got to meet the evictee as they came over the bridge from the BB house.

It was a time when bonafide celebs didn't mind having a connection to the show. No matter where you went people talked about Big Brother.

The icing on the cake was an electric final night, a real celebration, a huge crowd with loads of erected seating. A night where the crowd gave recognition to all the housemates for their contribution. The noise was deafening and there was a real sense of occasion, something that has been lacking for a long time now.

Maybe the change of venue from Bow was a contributory factor, but after BB2 it all went a bit downhill for me.
