Chain Gang - Housemates to be handcuffed for 3 days as BB turns nasty

THE housemates are set to be handcuffed in pairs today as Big Brother shows his evil side once again.

The contestants will be matched up according to their body weight and will be locked together for THREE days.

They will remain manacled 24 hours a day and will only be released when they want to go to the Diary Room or use the toilet.

The task could see Jason paired with Dan, Stuart with Nadia and Shell with Michelle.

The evil plan is one of three dreamt up by the show's staff amid concern that the housemates would "play it safe" once they are told that they are all up for eviction this week.

They chose the handcuff task in a bid to raise the tension again, but there were last minute fears last night that it could be enough to tip Jason over the edge.

A Channel 4 insider said: "Staff were anxious that the housemates will become boring. They didn't want things getting stale, especially as the show is going into the last few weeks. The handcuffs seemed a good idea at the time but they are having to decide whether it might just finish Jason off."

Jason has threatened to leave because he misses his friends Ahmed and Victor.

The lonely Scot, 30, said he hated the other contestants and would not mix with them.

He said in the Diary Room: "I think it's time to go. I'm not even going to last a day, to be honest. I don't want to mix with the people left. There's no one I want to spend more than 10 minutes with."

Earlier Dan, 30, referred to the possibility of Jason being evicted, and sneered: "Do you want any help packing next week?"

When Jason retorted that he was about to ask Dan the same thing, the gay hairdresser spat: "Talking to us now your playmate's gone, are you?"

But Jason perked up yesterday when Big Brother gave the housemates some gym equipment. He said: "It's better than sex - at this moment in time."

Please go ahead and please please please handcuff Stuart to Shell. BB would definitely up its evilness if it did that. Michelle would certainly lose it and with any luck would get another warning which would mean she would be out. She just wouldnt be able to contain herself if in fact Stuart was handcuffed to anyone other than her. She really is pathetic

I'd say it would make marvellous entertainment to watch Shell handcuffed to Stu, the expression on Michelle's face, considering she gets slightly obsessive when Stu is in the kitchen baking bread with Shell, I actually think Shell and Stu suit each other more than Michelle, just because of the types of characters they are!

As for Jason and Nadia, well that would be something, but I would feel for the poor gal being handcuffed to Jay considering his mood from last night's show, I thought he was a bit confusing complaining about the last group, guess he must be missing Victor, shame really as the rest of them seem to be trying to include him and he does not want to know!

In this week's task housemates will be chained to each other - from now, right through to Wednesday.

The housemates have been divided into pairs based on their weight. Following yesterday's weigh-in, Daniel and Nadia make up the heavyweight duo, Jason and Michelle the middleweights, and Stuart and Shell the lightweights.

One couple will be chained at the ankle, one at the waist and one at the wrists. The housemates will decide amongst themselves who will be joined where.

The pairs must remain chained at all times, apart from during visits to the Diary Room and when they go to the toilet.

The chained companions must sleep together.

In the mornings, they can then unlock themselves, shower and get dressed before putting their shackles back on.

Housemates are not allowed to brush their own teeth, apply their own makeup, moisturisers or sunscreen at any time - their partners must carry out these duties.

And that's not all.

Housemates can only smoke in a designated smoking area in the corner of the garden.

One pair must cook for the other housemates each day. No other housemates may help themselves to any food or drink during that day - they have to request snacks from the couple on kitchen duty.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner must be eaten at the kitchen table. And meal times are further hampered by the fact that they cannot feed or take a drink themselves - they must be fed by their partner.

The spa pool and baths are out of bounds during the task.

And apart from the trials of day-to-day life chained together, the housemates will be given other tasks to complete over the three days.

If they pass, next week's shopping budget will be doubled and they will receive an extra special personal privilege pass.

I love the fact that Stuart is going to be handcuffed to Shell. God Michelle is going to be soooo jealous. Couldnt have worked out better.

I too think they dont seem to care about failing the task. They certainly dont seem to be going without food as has happened in the past when they have practically starved when the task was failed.

Chain Reaction

The housemates have received their weekly task and will remain shackled together in pairs until Wednesday.

Daniel has been coupled with Nadia, Jason with Michelle, and Stuart with Shell.

Initial details of the task were met with mixed reactions from the housemates. As Nadia read the laminate issued by Big Brother, Michelle laughed and Jason stared stonily into space.

After reading out the housemates' weights, Nadia informed them of their pairings. Michelle looked glum as she learned that Stuart would be paired with Shell, and Stuart looked uncomfortable.

Shell squealed on learning that successful completion of the task would result in the shopping budget being doubled and a personal privilege pass.

As soon as the chain selection was announced, Nadia told them that one pair had to be attached by their ankles, one by their waists and one by their wrists. Michelle quickly laid claim to the wrist cuffs.

And she had words of warning for Stuart, gently chiding him, "Behave yourself, you," and slapping him playfully on the leg.

While the housemates discussed the task and mused on the "personal privilege pass" on offer if they pass, Jason remained silent.

Once more a housemate was summoned to the Diary Room - and Nadia jumped up again, returning seconds later with the chains.

"Wrists," said Michelle happily, grasping the chains and manacling herself to Jason. Shell and Stuart attached themselves at the waist, and Nadia and Daniel were joined at the ankle.

"I'll have to go for walks with you," joked Michelle to a resolutely surly Jason.

"I just hope there's a lot of leeway in this," he muttered, stressing his need to do press-ups.

"We're gonna be tearing each other's hair out by the end of this task," laughed Daniel.

Back On The Chain Gang

Jason has agreed to participate in the latest task after paying a visit to the Diary Room to inform Big Brother he would not take part.

Clearly not pleased when details of the task were revealed, he went into the Diary Room to tell Big Brother, "There's no way I'm gonna do this task..."

But, despite his insistence that he would not participate, he emerged from the Diary Room saying that he would try to see it through.

"This is gonna be tough for me, man," he grumbled as he joined Michelle and the manacles went back on.

The two wandered into the garden as Jason continued to moan, "You know how much I love my own space."

"I know, I know," soothed Michelle.

"I'll give it a go... you can only give it a go," he conceded grudgingly. But he admitted that he would find it difficult to share a bed.

"All my life, I've always slept by myself," he said.

Could this be the same man that bagged the double bed on his arrival in the House, sprawling himself out on it alluringly in a leopard print thong..?

I was just thinking, Michelle shot herself in the foot requesting the wrist cuffs. If she'd thought about it, she should have forced Stu and Shell to wear them. I've not seen the contraptions, but surely being joined at the waist means you have to be closer to the person you're shackled to as you're joined at the middle of the body?

I really do find this task pathetic. Restricted movement. people joined who would prefer not to be. This is going to make and indeed has to date for stilted conversations lack of play activities. all very very boring and pointless.

In the run down to the final BB could have done much better than choose a task designed to make Jason mix with the others.

The ones I feel like voting out this week is the idiots that dreamed up this piece of boring garbage of a task......:mad::devil:

Watching Sunday's highlights there wasn't much conversation at all. Personally I think this is a great task as it keeps Jason out of bed and gets Michelle jealous.

Shell has been sharing her thoughts with Big Brother on the Joined At The Hip task and life chained to Stuart.

"It's quite fun," she said in the Diary Room. "It means Jay's come into the group again. We can all function together as six, rather than..."

The Voice of God asked her what it was like being chained to Stu. "I don't really mind at all," she confessed.

But she did have concerns that some housemates might struggle with their new attachments.

"Jay will find it a little bit harder. He's used to taking a nap when he wants and he says he's a light sleeper." Jay will have to sleep with Michelle chained to him of course.

But it's not like it's easy for Michelle either. "Michelle jokes, but I don't think she likes another girl being chained to her boyfriend."

But what about Stuart? How does he feel about being chained to Shell?

"I don't think it's the worst thing in the world for him," she said.

I think that this task could well lead to fireworks. There is NO WAY Jay is going to be dragged around after Stu for the next 2 days and even more so he isnt going to sit there while they slobber all over each other. I think this will be the one that makes the scot lose the plot

The rules also state: "All main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) must be eaten at the dining table. At these meals housemates must not feed or take a drink themselves, they must instead be fed and watered by the housemate they are chained to."

At tonight's evening meal, all of the housemates fed themselves. This could result in as many as six further fails.

The partners have to apply make-up to those that wear it and both Nadia and Michelle have put lippy on themselves.

I don't think, after watching C4 tonight, that Jason will walk. After hearing him in the diary room, he doesn't want to give certain HMs (ie Nadia) the satisfaction. But if he is the tough man he has been making himself out to be, over the past 8 weeks, he will lose his rag and say something to either Michelle or Nadia.

The housemates tried to figure out what they are to each other, now they are compelled to stay up close and personal for this week's task.

Nadia kicked off the conversation by explaining what she has become to Dan. "It's a gorgeous little handbag...you're carrying around," she told her manacle mate Dan, who had started to complain about having excess baggage in his life.

"I never thought of you like that, darling," he replied brightly, "like ...an arm bangle, made in Portugal."

Clearly pleased with his new fashion item, he announced, "I've got a Nadia."

"I'm his accessory, he's my stalker," concluded Nadia, before enquiring what shackled Shell and Stu were in each other's eyes.

"I'm a thingy," said Shell, evidently still a little miffed that Michelle had forgotten her name earlier.

But she then decided Stuart is "very lucky" because he's "chained to a Princess."

"Or a thingy, whichever," joked Michelle, perhaps unwisely.

Stu declared he's "the ogre that's got the Princess." But Shell obviously couldn't get the image of Stu the mean, ugly giant, and concluded he was like her "wee brother."

Jay's not a happy puppy


"You just won't leave me alone," she said.

"What about you Michelle?" asked Nadia, but she was encouraged to let the questioning go. "Give in, chick...I don't know," said Michelle with downward cast eyes.

Nadia suggested she could be a handbag...but then realised it would be Jay's, and rejected the suggestion.

Jay, sat stoically beside Michelle, was clearly not interested in being the latest season's clutch purse, nor any fairytale character.

"No, Jason's like your puppy...patiently waiting for you to come out of the loo," offered Dan excitedly. "I said that earlier...He looked like a puppy-dog."

No one pressed Jason to think of what he was to Michelle, which left the fun discussion in tatters.

There followed a long, embarrassed silence. Turning away and taking a long toke on his ciggie, Dan murmured, "God, what is this?"

So far I think Michelle has taken it lightly. It's just a fun task and she is not at all concerned by Shell and Stu being shackled up together. At least thats the impression I got watching it last night. Also Jason seems to have lightened his mood. He was having a laugh with everyone last night. He even managed to say a few words to Nadia. He still has a tight fuse though because whilst everyone was having a laugh, Shell copied Jasons accent and he really took offence by it and had a wee go at her. Dan stepped in to lighten the bad atmosphere by trying to copy Jasons accent which resulted in everyone laughing. Good old Dan.

I think that she is VERY concerned that Stu is shackled to Shell - she has even taken to calling shell thingy!! they are all small but deliberate ways to try and make shell feel insignificant. Michelle has a face like its been smacked with a wet kipper every time Shell and Stu move a muscle

The chance of Michelle losing it and having a major go at Shell is the only reason I still look forward to BB each night. Or Stu finally growing a set, and standing up to her. But saying that, I really want her out this week. It is not good for my stress levels watching her. I do far too much shouting at the TV when she's on. And I like to get a break shouting at the TV during the summer cos i do enough of it when the football's on. (August 15th - New Season...woohoo):colour:
