OMG!
The world didn't end today!
I guess this means we're safe for at least another 4 years.
How is everyone feeling regarding this matter?

They only switched it on though. The experiments are to start in October. And then there will be more scares next year, and in 2012 I imagine (if we make it till then... :whistle:) - it's never-ending.

We wouldn't of died from simpy a machine being switched on lol?
What annoys me is when people say;;
"OMG we are deffo going to die" etc...
If you bother to look into this subject, we will NOT die, NOT die. ok?
Honestly some people, get your facts right before posting crap.
You don't realise how safe this machine really is, its because you all listen/watch/read the media papers and websites when you no that blow it out of context just to sell papers and earn money. And your gulable enough to believe them, It is infact very safe, they do experiments like this all the time, just in smaller sized machines. So please I'm fedup of hearing members saying how its not over yet, etc.. and all this other crap from forum members on here, its really boring now.

Also adding to my rant, they have conducted hundreds on the tests on the machine, it has taken them years to plan, therefore adding to it being safe. They have had people from all over the world inspect it, it has undergone hundres of safety checks too, some of you don't realize how much caution they have gone through to make it safe. If anything did go wrong, it would be a mini black hole forming which would then collapse into itself not causing any danger at all. Scientists are extremely careful, thats why they only projected two beams around the LHC yesterday at a very low power, they are increasing the power. Everytime they increase it, they spend days testing the LHC to see how its coping, then they increase it some more etc...
The earth gets hit by more dangerous particles(or something) than what the LHC is capable of producing, so yeah think again people.
(Sorry, I hate it when noobs say were still going to die and actually think they know more than scientists, just **** off, Your wrong!)

I remember some "Bible Code" which had "accurately predicted events such as 9/11" (though I have not researched it, and I doubt many have :wink:) predicted the end of the world to be at 11:59pm on New Years' Eve 2006.
It was only when drunkenly remembering around 3am New Years' Day that I realised it hadn't happened :tongue:

It said that we might die in 2006 if we don't change our future.
Drosnin, in The Bible Code II, described the probabilities of nuclear holocausts and the destruction of major cities by earthquakes in 2006, saying "The dangers will peak in the Hebrew year 5766 (September 2005 - September 2006 in the modern calendar), the year that is most clearly encoded with both 'World War' and 'Atomic Holocaust'… "The Bible Code is not a prediction that we will all die in 2006. It is a warning that we might all die in 2006, if we do not change our future.
Also The Mayans did not believe that the world would end in 2012, they celebrated when they reached the end of a full cycle, also the king did not believe it either;;
Despite the publicity generated by the 2012 date, Susan Milbrath, curator of Latin American Art and Archaeology at the Florida Museum of Natural History, stated that "We [the archaeological community] have no record or knowledge that [the Maya] would think the world would come to an end" in 2012.[12]
"For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle," says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies, Inc. in Crystal River, Florida. To render December 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in.
Right hopefully this clears some stuff up!
