i watched a programme about 911 the other day and a father of a young fireman was talking about his speech at the funeral and he said " i didn't make a speech for today so i'll say what's in my heart" and all he said was " son i know you're in the angels arms but i'd rather have you in mine"

brought a tear to my eye! he looked so sad and emotional and his voice cracked at the end too! bless him!!

In 2001, I was due to preach the Sunday after 9/11 and so I had to change the sermon for something kind of related, using the inspiration for various hymns

in 2005, 9/11 fell on a Sunday, and it was the last time in our last location, so I ended up preaching on the lessons of 9/11
