Tibb Photography Contest: Round 1 Themes [CONTESTANTS READ]

Welcome! To Round 1 of Tibb's Photography Contest.
Get your cameras at the ready. as here are the themes for this round.

So here they are, nice and easy for Round 1.

GROUP 1 (Callum, Christina, Conor, Fom, Lemon_Jam, Scampi.)

Theme: Standing Out From The Crowd.
This week your asked to take a picture of something that stands out from everything else.


GROUP 2 (Double Trouble, GhettoSuperstar, Gemmer-x, pinkmichk, Nickyy,Magic,Pj.)

Theme:Motion.
This theme you are asked to take a picture based on "Motion." Something moving or in action.



So there are the themes;;
- Remember entries must be in by Thursday 18th September before 6.00 pm
- U2U your entries to Xander


Rules
- You are not allowed to copy images off of the net, I WILL track the original source down of the image if I'm suspicious, and believe me don't go there.
- They must be taken by you, you are allowed to recieve advice from others but they themselves are not allowed to take the picture.
- Late entries will not be excepted.
- It can be a existing photo that you have taken, but preferably a newer one would be better.
- It has to be a still image.
- You can't show other people your picture before it is posted.

Rules On Editing;
You ARE allowed to;;
- Resize
- Crop
- Change the image to full B&W or Full SEPIA, not a mixture of the two or any other color.
- Sharpen

You are NOT allowed to;;
- Use lighting effects.
- Blurring.
- Enhance The Picture. ( Change the contrast/brightness.)
- You can not use effects such as, Overlay, Lighten, Screen etc... on any picture.
- No text, or borders.
- No effects such as changing the exposure, selective colour etc..

You'll be fine, it doesn't matter if the actual subject is blurred as it is motion. :wink:

My camera is like really high q.. so my motion picture won't be blurred unless its something going at high speed xD

wish i was in group 1 now i cant find my camera instructions have only ever shot in macro or auto before so this is certainly gonna be a challenge

someone go out with a camera on a tripod in a busy street and set the exposure to about 2 sec. ... love those shots of blury busy people in motion while the rest of the street scape is still. It's a bit of a cliche pic but a nice one too:spin2:

right think i have my possibles now one more question is black and white allowed or does it need to be colour (one of my possibles was actually shot in b&w so i cant change it)

but its what you can do with it that matters i dont know half the settings on mine and have lost the instruction book so not overly confident about what i am entering

Yeah, I find motion really hard to get.
I was thinking, anything could be motion practically, its just how much motion.

I has a 7.1 mp pixel.. (Just to join in).. but it sucks for taking really cool motion pics on :sad: - it like dosn't blur em xD

BTW just to let you know, if you have taken the picture you can always send it in before the deadline, its just easier for me. :wink:
You can also change your entry before the deadline.

i have a 2MP camara on my phone, but getting a 3.2 camara on a new phone on tuesday.

Which i find good because the 2MP camara made a good motion picture. :cheer2:

And so far I can say that the standard has been great and the entires I have got in have really got the theme spot on.

Na ah.

You are allowed to crop, resize, change the colour to b&W, sepia.
I will allow slight photoshopping but it can only be minor.

Yeah, its fine. You can't really do things such as enhance the image too much, or add certain effects, the whole idea is to test your camera skills not photoshopping skills. :wink:

Right just to make it clear, I would really prefer it if you did not photoshop or edit your picture in anyway. Its not the aim of this contest. Put it on first page as well.

Been so busy this week guys, its been near impossible to even enter this week! Hope my photo is up to scratch, mine is more metaphorical than anything. So mine does follow the theme but... yeh you will understand when you see :P
