As long as it stays above 3 million I'll be happy; and 3.6 million is a very big audience for C4.

Not bad after 3 bad series.
With a few huge names for CBB6 hopefully BB10 will do better than BB9

It may have been a ratings flop, but BB9 was more critically acclaimed, and rightly so - it was a much better series.

It's still one of Channel 4's highest rating shows.

Its not a flop.... it got the best rating for C4.

And it was 300,000 lower than BB8. The finale got 5.3m, no other Channel 4 show has come close to that since the BB9 launch, and before that, since the BB8 finale.

No otehr shows except BB gets over 4.5 million, no matter what, it is the highest rated show on C4.

BBusa is seen as a sucess and that gets 7m out of the 300m in the country, so Im guessing that those ratings for a country with 70m population is not that bad.

Thats a stupid thing to say. You only can judge ratings against other UK ratings not by judging the percentage of audience over population against USA. 2 different countries which ratings don't affect each over.
The top US show gets around 30 - 40million so around about 7million is great for an out of season show
The top UK show gets 10 - 15million, so around about 3.6 million in the summer is good.

The % of the audience during BB9 was good, it generally got 14-18% share, isnt that good?

the only show that gets 30 or 40 million would be a baseball game.the highes non-sport show would be the American Idol which only gets 25 million per show.XF gets 10 million per show.so if you look at it this way.BBUS gets 18 million less the AI while BBUK gets 6 million less then XF.

but what has the US ratings got to do with the UK ratings
Like I said BB:US does great for an out of season show and BB:UK does good for a summer show but neither effects the other so they can't be compared.

As long as I enjoyed the series, ratings don't matter.

Overall ratings don't matter, its the amount of 16-34 year old viewers that count. They're the ones who the advertisers like. BB was always in the top 3 and its the hardest group to get hold of. This year also got a higher audience appreciation than last year. It might be down overall on BB8 (but don't forget BB8 had no Saturday highlights, BB9 did) but its been a success and its retained most of its viewers.

I dont think its a flop. The fact that BB8 was rated higher than BB9 should tell you that. MOst people who watched them, would agree, that BB9 was much better. But the decline in rating is just a natural phenomenon. I think culturally, its not considered cool to watch BB anymore. Whereas, like 4 5 years ago, it was cool!

Quality and rating is not the exact same thing. All forms of entertainment goes up and down and itīs always been like that. Reality shows is pretty much dead here in Sweden and other scandinavian countries after a couple of good years in the past. Not so sure about the rest of the Europe.

Wrestling in USA was huge in the 80īs. Did horrible in early to mid 90īs only to be more popular than ever a year later and tears to follow until it went down again approximately 5 years ago.

Tv series like Sopranos and Lost has done great the last few years both in USA and European countries. Donīt say anything what to expect in 10 years.

Freak shows like Jerry Springer was popular in the 90īs. Not so much now.

MMA wasnīt a big deal in the 90īs. Then Pride and other promotion made it popular in Japan and UFC exploded in USA doing ppv numbers nobody could possible imagine years ago. Many successful UFC shows in England as well and the intrest is an all time great here in Sweden.

i was just saying that the show here gets the same sort of % share as it does than the one in the US, well higher actually, just wanted to bring it up.
