now, please excuee any drunken mis-spellings. ktxbaud

IIRC, there weas a Tibb "meet-up" years ago for the odler members, and I was just wondering what everynoe's thoughts tregarding a second one would be.

I guess ypu'd have to be at least 16 to attend...?

I wouldn't go. It would have to be in London i reckon.

Z
19-09-2008, 01:18 AM
I'd like to, but it's really impractical for me as a meet up would be in England most likely, and see if any of you lot are actually planning on kidnapping and raping me and I don't get to use my return fare train ticket?

But yeah, it's something I'd like to do, but I probably wouldn't do right now.

I'd love to go but theres sort of an ocean in the way. Stupid plane fares. Unless everyone wants to go to a Take That concert-one thing I can guarnatee being in England for.

Oh god I won't even hear you over my insane screaming. Seriuosly my mum said she didn't know a person could physically scream that loud.

hehe, yeah I don't think I'd go because allthough I trust most people on the forum.. it's still the internet and to meet up with loads of strangers is bit of a risk to me.

Actually it was in Manchester in November 2002, and I was there

London is the pits, and I would suggest you find out where the main demographic of the board lives, and see about a venue there. It may not be London.

You could of course have regional meet ups, which could suffice for people like Princess.

As for the North East, Next Wednesday 24 September, in Newcastle upon Tyne, at the bottom of Northumberland Street, I will be there to photograph our church town day, so we could all arrange to meet there sometime through the day. (I will have to attend a church function in the evening though)

I'm totally up for it. I reckon it'd be amazing.
Personally, it'd probably have to be in London since it'd be really hard for me to get out of London/afford it. There's loads of places in London to go &as the country's capital, it'd be great. Plus the tube is love.

If it's somewhere out of London, I'd probably have to meet up with someone in London first, and have them go with me because I'm thick like that =(
Unless we're provided directions in big letters and explained extremely simply :]

Either way, I won't be able to go if it's gonna cost a lot.

Lauren
19-09-2008, 10:37 AM
I think to cover any legalities it has to be 18, not 16.

Which rules out quite a lot of members.

If it's in London I can't go, at all.
It costs me over £100 to get into London, not mentioning how to get back, and although it's the capital, it's hardly central.

I imagine a better place would be somewhere like Birmingham, which is central and has a lot of travel links. It's a fair distance from me but I imagine that would be the fairest location.

Kate..
19-09-2008, 10:42 AM
I can't go lol I'm only 14
Not sure I would go either. I agree with Sam.. I trust people on tibb but this is an open forum. If someone read where we were going to meet up... I just wouldn't feel right.

Lauren
19-09-2008, 10:43 AM
Another option than just posting a location for the meetup was the post a topic saying "PM me for details on the meet up" and then it's up to Shaun's discretion who can be trusted/well known enough to get the details? Would save some randoms popping along.

Kate..
19-09-2008, 10:49 AM
Yeah that's true. Good idea :)

Yeh I could understand why people met up in Manchester for that same reason, its not central but its closish. Manchester is known as music gig centra just because there are so many transport links in manchester and it being so easy to get to. I recommend that

It wouldn't be practical if it was in London, it should be in the middle of the UK, but then again I wouldn't go anyway

it shouldn't be in London. It should be in Birmingham, right at the center. I don't think everything should revolve around London just because its the capital.

there's a law against under 18's being met up with over the internet..?
i thought it was just frowned upon..? lmao

Haha, no there's not a law against meeting, as such.

But if we were all to meet up under the pretence of it being under the "TiBB meet up" name, then that assumes a level of responsibility (ethical/moral and bordering legal too) from the owners of TiBB.

If something were to happen to someone under 18 on this meet up, then the law will get involved and those with the given responsibility (including Shaun, if he had organised it) would be the ones that could be given the blame.

I still think a national meet up is a bit ambitious, especially in the current financial climate. Regional meet ups might be a better idea.

I think it would be a good idea to have another meet up, although I probably wouldn't go to it. I think it's best to keep this for over 18's only to avoid any sort of problems getting in trouble with the law etc.

The Dublin nightlife is let down by the stupid law that bans the selling of alcohol after a certain hour. But you can still have a good night. Temple Bar on weekends is amazing. Filled with drunks, tourist and drunk tourists. Clubs wise - Bondi, 21's, Purty Kitchen, Tripod - and if you are willing to go on a bit of a trek - Tomangoes is amazing. Even so, the pub/clubs like Doyles and Messers can be amazing. Doyles on a Friday night is deadly.

I love Dublin. I just don't love it's laws against alcohol. I suppose there is always ways aroind it. Myself - I buy about 3-4 nagans at a time, and then drink what I want/can and save the rest for another time.

So yeh, Dublin for TiBB meet-up 09.

if it was in london i'd go, just cause its easier for me. travelling to nottingham last month was hell alone and really expensive. i only did it because it was something that was important. i don't think a tibb meet up would be worth paying so much for a train ticket up the uk.

I've always thought, if there is ever one and I do go - I'd get horrifically drunk first just to mess it up for everyone else. The meet ups all going smoothly until I blunder in!

I honestly think it would be a laugh. Getting drunk in person with these people you have talked to over the INTERNET for years, like.

mark and james should branch into trains! tibb express!!
God no. It should be for members only. I don't want to get off a plane, catch a train and arrive at the building to find it locked.

Ross
19-11-2009, 10:42 PM
I'd go to meet Lauren, slap that bitch up and take photos and post them in Meet The Members.

"Yeah, meet this member... that bitch, Lauren. NOT SO LOVELY NOW, HEH?"

Oh, I've totally dreamt of doing that. Good times.
Joke.

But that's the beauty of a meet up; you'd make friends!

Having said that, I don't think I'd go if it was in the south of England - too far to travel!

I say we have a TiBB meet-up ... in my pants! ;)

Harry!
22-11-2009, 12:49 PM
In order for this to happern we would need to book it through a offical booking site with costs.

Plus for the younger members how can it be sure that they could go if the perents didnt let them.

You would need to book a hotel and flights and other costs.

I wouldnt mind going but I am not to sure.

I only did it because I wanted your attention.

-slowly removes clothes-

In all seriousness; I think the furthest south I'd be willing to travel would be like Birmingham, if I could get a cheap way of getting there. I'd consider hopping across the sea to Ireland though; I keep forgetting I'm in Glasgow and it's actually not that far away at all!

It would be for adults only.

Problem solved.

Some popular members are quite young on here. But a adult only (or age+) would be the safest option.

Belfast? Dublin? Neither? Where would be best if it were to be in Ireland!?

It's the only option, really. I imagine this meet up would involve lots of traveling, promiscuous sex, gracious drug use, violent boozing and an icing of brutal sadomasochism. Sucks to be young but ... yeah ... liability and all that I guess.
