Why do people find this so strange? x

Okii, this has kind of got to do with family/friends but i wanted to know if you find this different/strange. My dad's sister [my auntie] has 4 children who are all mixed race. Then on of her daughters had a child with somebody who is black. So therefor that child was black but has some white in them. Then THAT person has a baby who is also black. But when people see the pictures of my cousin they are always like.. 'omg how comes your baby cuz is black when youre white?' Then i explain it to them and there like.. 'so hes not your real cousin right?!' and im like 'Erm.. yes he is' lol. Why is that so hard to beleive lmao hes my 3rd cousin.
