With not so long until election day, I think we need a thread for the presidential election.

OMG. Obama should totally win it!
Do they want to step backwards or forwards. Old John McCain and that horrible Palin woman. She just strikes me as such an arrogant person with all her 'beliefs' about guns and everything. I sure hope they don't win. If Hillary Clinton had been chosen for Obama's VP, McCain wouldn't of chosen Sarah Palin.

The polls to who won the debate amongst voters is mixed.
A few say Obama won, a few say McCain won and a few say it was a draw
I think McCain needed to do a little better but there is still another 2 debates to go.
There already was a thread?!
Here was my first post on that thread:
http://filthyrag.com/blog/2008/09/the-john-mccain-lie-counter-long-read/
Sarah Palin - doesn't believe in abortion. Says her daughter has made a choice to have her baby - fair enough....except that she wants to deny others that choice.
Was happy for rape victims to be charged for their rape testing kits.
Tried to get her brother in law fired from his job as state trooper, over a personal disagreement.
Was apparently overheard saying, "So Sambo beat the bitch," upon hearing that Obama beat Hillary Clinton for the democratic presidential nominee.
Refers to Eskimos as "Arctic Arabs".
Was asked if she agreed with the Bush doctrine - she wasn't able to say what that doctrine was.
Said that prior to accepting the job as VP candidate, she talked the decision over with her daughters. It has since been proven that she accepted the job before even telling her daughters.
When she became Mayor of Wasilla, the town had NO debt. By the time she left that post, the town was $22 million in debt.
Has been alleged dodgy expense claims.
Talks about a "Palin-McCain administration" (someone needs to remind her, she is VP candidate, not presidential candidate) and referred to McCain as her running mate. (The VP candidate is always referred to as the running mate, not the other way around - frankly if John McCain does get in, he needs to watch his back...she doesn't want to be VP, she wants the top job).
Said that if her daughter got pregnant as a result of rape, she would not allow her to have an abortion.
Is willing to wage war on Russia (thanks, but I've already lived through the threat of one Cold War - I don't fancy going through it again).
Has far less experience than Obama, despite the fact that McCain attacked Obama relentlessly for his lack of experience.
Belongs to a Church which prays to make gay people straight.
Is against same-sex marriage.
In addition to that post, I would add that in a recent interview, Sarah Palin still refers to Putin as the president of Russia. (Apparently, the fact that he flies over Alaska qualifies her in areas of foreign policy - honestly, I am not kidding)! First of all, Putin is not president any more - you would think the American VP nominee would be aware of such facts. Secondly, foreign planes fly over where I live - does that qualify me to negotiate with those countries?
She referred to the UN Complex as US soil (in the same interview). Huge error. Part of the UN agreement was that the UN Complex is NEUTRAL territory. Simple mistake you might think? Well yes, if it was you or me saying it. But it was a VP nominee! http://www.un.org/geninfo/faq/factsheets/FS23.HTM
There are now 64 proven lies which John McCain has told during the election campaign. (I know a certain member seems to think that a proven liar is a better choice for president than someone who does not appear to have told any lies whatsoever, but personally I disagree).
I also don't like the idea of a man who makes jokes about women being raped (McCain), or that we should give free cigarettes to Muslims, to give them cancer (McCain), or who chants, "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" and then tells protesters to "get a life" (yep, you got it - McCain again).
Sorry for repeating myself, but if a duplicate thread hadn't been made, I wouldn't need to.
Obama is ahead almost all of the polls. What is interesting is that even in staunch replublican states, which McCain is doubtless going to win, he is only up by 2 or 3 points, whereas Bush won those states by huge amounts. I am also happy to see that polls are showing more people wanting Biden as VP than Palin. In fact, her popularity has dropped massively since she was announced as McCain's running mate.

Most polls have Obama as coming out of it far better.
McCain trying to postpone the debate has done him no favours whatsoever. I think McCain will be very lucky to win this election now (and I hope he loses).
I am looking forward to the Biden/Palin debate. I think he will rip her to shreds. Since being named as VP nominee, Biden has done almost 100 interviews. Palin has done...3. And put her foot in it in every single one.

I couldnt believe that Palin interview, why oh why would they let her speak in public, she is just making herself look like a numptie!!!
Current betting odds (which have been just as accurate as the polls, and more accurate than them in recent years) have Obama at 4-11 to win, and McCain at 15-8 to win, which is great news.

McCain really needed to perform better in that debate but he didn't do badly
I think alot is going to rest on what Palin says before the election.

Possibly. But to be honest (and I'm not trying to pick a fight)! I think she has become a thorn in the side of the Republican campaign. For her to have only given three interviews since being announced (Biden has given nearly 100), and on each of those interviews she has made a blunder...it's not looking good. A VP nominee really should know who the president of Russia is, especially as she keeps going on about how Alaska is next to Russia, which she seems to think qualifies her to talk knowledgeably about the country). In her recent press conference, she only too 4(!) questions, and all the news channels (even Fox News, which is massively right wing) are unhappy with the way the Republican camp seem to be trying to protect her.
McCain is now retracting statements made by Sarah Palin (with regard to whether the US would enter Pakistan). He must be kicking himself for picking her.
She basically agreed with Obama's stance, and now McCain has had to retract what she said. Oh, it does make me smile.....

There are lots of calls for McCain to get rid of Palin now, even from the far right, who you would think would be her main supporters. As an Obama fan, I sincerely hope that he does NOT get rid of her! Obama is still ahead in the polls, with a comfortable lead.

it's a no-win situation for him. A lot of people want her out because she is useless, but people are also saying that if he gets rid of her now, it shows that he is not capable of making good decisions for picking her in the first place (after all, you would assume that someone would put a hell of a lot of thought into who he would pick for his running mate).
Did you see that interview which Palin did with Katie Couric? It was even funnier than the spoof video which I posted above. She was floundering terribly.
CNN had 12000 emails in 45 minutes, a huge majority of which say that Palin should step down. The Katie Couric interview was a disaster for her. McCain is also coming under a lot of fire for picking someone who was clearly incapable.

Yeah true, but McCain must way up the situation and see which decision would be the biggest loss for his campaign. I think the republican camp will have really prepared her for the debate and one good performance off her and the situation could be fixed

If she doesn't pull off a few good performances in the next few days then I think the best situation would be for her to step down. It doesn't make McCain look as bad as if he had of got rid of her.

Well, that would be my initial thought also. However, if she steps down now, people will still know that it is because she is doing badly.
I'm not sure she will do well in the debate. You would think they would have prepared her well, but who knows?
It's worth repeating again that since being named as VP nominee, Biden has now done around 100 interviews with press/journalists. Sarah Palin has done....3. I saw two of them (Katie Couric and Charles Gibson), and she performed terribly on both of them.
What is really surprising is that current stats show a less than 1% chance of McCain winning all the states that Bush won in 2004. The states that Bush won easily and which should be staunch Republicans are not looking good for McCain.
In Virginia, Obama is up currently by 1.4 points. Bush won that in 2004 by 8.2 points. (The last time a Democrat won in this state was 1964).
Florida is currently tied. Bush won that in 2004 by 5 points.
North Carolina has Obama up by 0.7 points (still statistically a tie). Bush won in 2004 by 12.4 points.
In Indiana, McCain is up by 2.3 points. In 2004, Bush won it by over 20 points.
Colorado - Obama is currently up by 5 points. Bush won it in 2004 by 4.7 points.
New Mexico has Obama up by 6 points. Bush won by 1 point in 2004.

And yes, she did do better than expected. But considering everyone expected her to do appallingly badly, that's not saying a lot.

Both sides came well prepared. I thought Palin did better than expected, but I genuinely feel she comes across as more of an endorsement for McCain, rather than Vice-President material. Even whilst speaking, it sounds as though she is chanting McCain's achievements, rather than staying true to opinions of her own. This will obviously appeal to McCain supporters, because they seem to want achievements listed rather than actual policies.
The opinions put across which happen to be hers, however (e.g. supporting teaching creationism in schools/anti-abortion), are frankly quite worrying. I really don't think the world is ready, particularly not when she has the potential to become President herself (if McCain serves one term). Those who vote for them deserve all they get if the Republicans end up with another 4 years. And it certainly doesn't improve international relations/foreign policy.
On the other hand, Joe Biden comes across as a lot more real. In fact, he has disagreed with Obama on several occasions, which deepens their mutual respect and allows the government to be run more honestly. I'm not saying I support all Democrat policies. In fact, I think more choice is needed as far as the two-party system goes, both in the UK and the US. But I would much rather see Biden/Obama in office rather than the alternative.

Yes, about 54 million watched the Obama-McCain debate.
The general consensus is that Palin didn't deliver. She did better than expected, but that's only because she was expected to do dreadfully.
Palin is now moaning about the Katie Couric interviews, because Katie didn't ask the questions that Palin wanted to answer:rolleyes: Poor ickle Palin. If she can't handle Katie Couric, how on earth does she think she will cope with other world leaders. Dear me, just when I think she can't get any more ridiculous, she amazes me yet again!
Interesting article here (http://www.nydailynews.com/opinions/2008/10/06/2008-10-06_sarah_palins_charm_is_lost_on_voters_who.html)
Basically saying that she might have the style and the ability to perform in a debate, but Palin lacks any actual knowledge or ability.
Regarding her debate - her pre-debate interviews set the bar ridiculously low (due to her complete ineptidue in both of them). Most McCain-Palin are just happy she didn't freeze up or make a dangerously erroneous comment; however it was obvious that she Palin just ignored or sidestepped questions she was not comfortable (read: knowledgeable) about (there were many of these) before delivering an obviously pre-prepared statement that she memorized during her recent cram session in Arizona.
These rehearsed 'messages to the people' were filled with the good southern girl image dialogue (golly, darn, gosh, etc). Probably the Republican strategy was to bust this out a couple times and play up that image. She did well in that respect although she failed to answer simple questions that 95% of politicians could legitimately answer.
She also mentioned something about wanting to speak to the American people rather than a debate. Fair enough - but she has turned down so many interviews where she could have made her point to the people. As I said before - Biden has done around 100 interviews since being named VP nominee. Palin has done 3 (not including the debates). Seems to me that there is only one thing she craves - and that is power.
Btw - she refers to the Republican ticket as "a team of mavericks." Could someone please advise her that this is a contradiction in terms?
Funny pic here (http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/10/3/43222/8057/718/618653)
Beware - it contains a couple of naughty words. (Sorry mods - hope this is okay).

I do have to kinda agree with Palin about the questions asked
but if she did more interviews then she would be more likely to get those questions asked so she could answer.
But if she becomes VP, she is going to have to get used to dealing with questions she is not happy with. And if she can't handle Katie Couric, how will she handle other world leaders?

Refusing to answer the questions she was asked. Deciding what she wanted to talk about - she needs to realise she's not chairing this debate.
"I want to talk about energy" - why Sarah? Because that's the one subject you had boned up on?
Also, I think everyone in the entire western hemisphere now knows that she is a "hockey mom" (although they might not know that she was only one for perhaps 2 years at the most) - there's really no need for her to keep reminding us at every opportunity. I would think people would want more than that in their VP.

Madonna has banned US vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin from attending her live shows.
During her 'Sticky & Sweet' tour date in New York, the popstar broke from her performance to launch an attack on the Republican politician.
She said: "Sarah Palin can't come to my party. Sarah Palin can't come to my show. It's nothing personal."
Later in the show, when a technical glitch caused a high-pitched screeching noise, Madonna commented: "Here's the sound of Sarah Palin's husband's snowmobile when it won't start."
P. Diddy, Lindsay Lohan and Pink have also declared their dislike for Palin, the running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
I can see why people dislike Palin but there is no need for this sort of hatred
but then again I do prefer Madonna

Some of them dont even care about the politics theyve even stated they supported Hilary Clinton a fellow democrat, but would rather vote a republican than Obama! AGAIN I wonder why???...nothing they care to share anyways:wink:

Polls show 79% think Obama won that debate. McCain did dreadfully. I mean, really really terribly. Fluffed his words, got angry and spiteful. Obama showed far more class and respect.
On the political forums I go on, many people think that McCain was on something (even his supporters)!
Seriously though, I think McCain has health issues. I really do. And we don't need a president with issues with his mind. He looks like he has aged 10 years just during this campaign, and we haven't even reached the election yet.
Obama is predicted to win by a mile.
In the CNN voter charts, women flatlined when McCain mentioned Sarah Palin. Simply put, this shows that women don't like Sarah Palin (which was not what McCain was hoping for when he picked her - another example of his failing health).
McCain is a condescending git. Has to have the last word constantly. And resorts to cheap and petty insults. The man is a moron.
McCain's attempts to use Joe the Plumber fell flat as well. Loved it when he was trying to make a point about potential fines for Joe's business (under Obama's administration). When asked what the fine would be, Obama said, "Zero," making a zero sign with his hands. Note to McCcain - it really would be worthwhile researching things before you try to use them against your younger and far more intelligent opponent.
Dear dear, what with Palin being found Guilty of abusing her power as governor, women votes turning away from her in droves, and McCain clearly losing the plot, this campaign is turning into a pantomime.

So your basically saying that Obama has sold himself better to the American people than McCain. Now it's time to vote Obama for that reason, I don't think so.
Whoever gets in, it will make no difference to the country as a whole. Whether powerful or not.

Turns out that 'Joe The Plumber' is a phony.
- He's not a licensed plumber
- He's not an indecisive voter
- He's a registered member of the Republican Party
- He doesn't earn enough to be affected by any tax increases
- He's nearly $2000 in arrears on taxes
- He's not trying to set himself up in business
-His name is Samuel, not Joe

My concern is where the money has come from to fund Palins new "image" It has possibly come from campaign money, if this is so then that is just plain wrong. It shouldnt matter how much your dress cost as long as your policies and committment is strong.
Palin always uses the line "hockey mom" yet her kids played very little, I travel all over the country with my daughter for ice hockey and dont need to use it as a pitch to get a job, it doesnt appear on my CV so why is it on hers?
I respect Obama and his simple ways of seeing things, why do politicians have to over complicate things?

I would be very VERY scared if McCain won... America would be in such a mess. Some times I wonder if he even realises how important his job actually is!
“I look at these people and can't quite believe that they exist. Are they professional actors? I wonder. Or are they simply laymen who want a lot of attention? The reason why I like McCain over Obama is that I think he will deliver on his promises and policies and make moves which will be better in the long term for America and the world even if it goes against what people want. Whereas Obama, i'm unsure if he will deliver and if he is strong enough to make those big decisions.

Goodness knows what polls you are looking at. Obama is up by about 2.3 points in Florida and about 6.1 points in Ohio (that's the average taken from a load of polls). We study about 6 or 7 different ones every day, all of which still have Obama winning comfortably. Incidentally, if even McCain did win Florida and Ohio, he would probably still lose. Obama would still probably have over 300 electoral votes.
Averaging the polls out, Obama is up by 8 points on average.
Incidentally, I would not call anyone a moron for supporting McCain. I don't understand why they would support him. And as for Palin...don't get me started.

There's no point just looking at one poll. Taking all the polls together and averaging them out...
Obama - 50.4
McCain - 42.4
Still a comfortable lead for Obama.
And in the last 7 major polls to be released, McCain hasn't polled above 44, and Obama hasn't polled below 50. There are some very partisan polls coming out, which just cannot be taken into serious consideration. I can only guess that it was one of those polls where you got your figures?

Well I think people are morons for liking him because he is also a complete moron, I admit I probably havent been following this like you but I have kept fairly up to date with it and everything I have watched from him just makes me hate him more, for one his whole 'Game plan' is pathetic and Obama just makes him look so stupid, spreading lies about Obama because he cant beat him in politics. His plans are realistic but they are no good, he has no idea what he is talking about, he is going on about lowering taxes but where the hell is the money gonna come from to do that? At last Obama has admitted he is going to raise taxes and some people and cut it on others... his plans to end this tragedy in the share markets are so much more substantial than McCain. People tend to be following him because they cant believe Obama is as good as he says, so they go into the rubbish one because at least he can meet his demands.
This man is so typical white trash its unbelievable, he hates gay people, he is 100% behind the war and he doesnt respect our troops. He cant stand on his own 2 feet and he needs a team of people around him to help him out in situations.
I personally dont trust him, and if he became president, the whole of America would be in SUCH a mess, the country wouldnt change (Which it needs) and it will just be going in a downward spiral until someone decided it was time to help out. Obama is for change and thats what the country needs.
And to answer the post above about gay marriage, neither are technically for it, as its not down to the president to make such a law its down to the individual states. Obama mentioned he will try his best and is all for it though, McCain on the other hand is just like George Bush and is against gay marriage. When confronted on the Ellen Chat show, he tended to avoid answering her question.
Spike - what do you think about the McCain fans who have been shouting "Kill him" about Obama? Personally I think anyone who makes such threats - no matter what their political affiliation - is bang out of order.
As soon as I read your post, I went onto about 7 different polls. All of them have Obama winning, with various amounts of electoral votes.
McCain can win Ohio. He can win Florida. He has to do a heck of a lot more than that to have a chance of winning the election. I'm not as scared of him winning as I am of Palin. You would think that considering how much she bangs on about her foreign policy experience (apparently based on the fact that she can see Russia out of her window), she would have known who the Russian president is. But no. She got that wrong. You would think that she would know that the President does not control the Senate. But no. She got that wrong. You would think that she would know that the UN is not American land, but neutral ground. But no. She got that wrong. I despair.

I agree, its bang out of order and these people are a disgrace to the Republican Campaign. These people have to realise that McCain is currently going to lose and they aren't helping him.
Truth is, McCain wanted to be the GOP candidate in 2000. And he should have been - he was far more centralist then than he is now, and he would have made a better President than Bush (admittedly that's not saying a lot). Don't get me wrong - Gore was my pick in 2000; I so wanted him to win - and the Presidency was stolen from him. Gore would have made a bloody good President, and I still get angry when I think about the whole Florida debacle. If McCain had been the GOP candidate in 2000, he almost certainly would have won the Presidency with quite a large margin - it would not have gone down to the wire, as it did with Gore and Bush. But I believe McCain has had his day. He did not get the nomination then, and now it's too late. I don't think McCain is a bad man (although I believe that Palin is a bad woman), but I just can't get on board with his beliefs and his policies. I don't believe that Obama is the second coming or anything like that. But what it comes down to is this: the next President will be either Barack Obama or John McCain. And I would rather take Barack Obama than John McCain. Simple as. Neither of them are perfect, because they are human. But I would rather take Barack with his human faults, than McCain with his human faults.
McCain and Obama actually get on quite well behind the scenes. McCain and Biden are good friends! But they happen to disagree on their policies. I like Biden - I think he will make a good VP. I do not believe Palin will make a good VP, no way, no how. Many of her own party don't believe it; and even her own mother in law has said that she is not qualified for the job, and that she (the mother in law) is voting for Obama!!
Sorry if I'm rambling - it's late, and I have had a few glasses of red wine!

Me too! It was such a blatant display of discrimination against black people! That whole election stank of corruption.
I'm glad to see Obama pulling ahead in polls, I really hope that he gets into power. I can't believe how soon it is 'til we find out who is going to be the next president of the USA!
Anchorage is the biggest town in Alaska (Palin's home state). Anchorage Daily News is endorsing Obama. Bit of a kick in the teeth for Palin.
She has also upset a lot of her Republican supporters, because in the middle of the 'credit crunch' she keeps banging on about being a normal American just like them, and how she understands the difficulties they face at this time of economic downturn. So they are a bit peed off that she has spent $150,000 on new clothes since being named VP nominee.
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned her husband Todd's affiliation with the AIP - Alaskan Independence Party. He was a member of this group for 7 years - a group who wanted Alaska to be separate from the rest of the US, and who declared the US government their enemy. A group who less than two years ago, Sarah Palin gave a big shout out to during a speech, when she told them to "keep up the good work."
I just don't understand why McCain chose Sarah Palin, of all people. He clearly didn't think that one through. I understand his logic, he wanted an attractive "Mom" who would soak up the non-Party affiliated female voters who would have voted for Clinton, but he's picked a woman who's a borderline religious zealot. She's not well informed about a lot of policy areas, and she's been shown up in speeches because of the gaps in her knowledge. Why has he chosen her as his running mate? I don't get it.
As things currently stand, Obama has an average of over 300 electoral votes (he needs 270 to win). He is also leading in 5 out of the 6 toss up states - but the way things are, he could lose all of the toss up states and still win the election. Currently there is a 95.7% chance that Obama will win:colour:
I'll be running. Just fill in my name on the "fill in" ballot.
Thank you!

He's definitely likeable. All I worry about is that this public front some voters have won't last too long. Can we really trust polls? By that I mean... they may well say they fully support Obama now in order to look like they support change, but when it comes to the actual voting itself, perhaps they won't be able to bring themselves to vote for a Barack Obama.
This is what I've heard some people say, and I have to admit I agree to an extent - as much as it scares me. It's happened before, after all - e.g. with Harold Washington and Tom Bradley. And with others, such as Douglas Wilder and David Dinkins... they were leading by many points to start with, but then only narrowly gained victory. It's just a bit worrying.

McCain is losing his chance by the day.
To get a more accurate look at the polls, you need to look at the state by state polls, rather than the overall ones. Obama is clearly pulling ahead. I do believe it will be a lot closer on the night than it currently looks, but I still think Obama will win. Even top Republican supporters and staunch Republicans like Carl Rove are predicting an easy win for Obama.
Ash - I understand exactly what you are saying. However, the people who wouldn't vote for Obama for that reason would probably not vote for a Democrat anyway.
Obama could easily lose most of the toss up states and still win the election. This election will be decided on electoral votes, not the 'popular' vote.
For anyone interested in the election, this is a cool little site....

I think he would have more of a challenge if his opponent (for want of a better word) was the incumbent President, which of course is not the case here.
The Bradley Effect is kind of negated by the amount of people who have said that they will vote for Obama purely because he is black (just to make it clear - I don't agree with voting or not voting for anyone based on their skin colour alone), so there will undoubtedly be some who won't vote for Obama because he is black, but times have changed since the Bradley days and the Washington days (although I am not pretending that true equality truly exists), and these days, positive discrimination comes more into play. And as I said earlier, a lot of voters have said that they will be voting for Obama because of his colour.
If McCain wins two thirds of the undecided voters (and he is unlikely to win that many), it will still only amount to one point in the polls. I don't see McCain winning this - no way, no how. Especially not now that there is a load of infighting in the Republican camp. They are not at all happy with Palin. I bet McCain is wishing he had thought his choice of running partner through a lot more carefully.

What I find interesting is that he even refers to himself as "black" despite having a white-American mother. I guess to an extent because he married an African-American woman as well, his own children are more black than he is.
But I definitely hope you're right. I can still see his popularity edging it, particularly because times have changed, but perhaps not by the same margin we expected. And I'm so glad he was sensible and picked a running mate like Joe Biden as opposed to the whole McCain/Palin publicity stunt which people are still supporting.
Exit polls in those states where early voting is allowed are looking very favourable for Obama:dance:

I hope Obama wins, that would be wonderful after his Grandmother dying. I don't even live in the US but I really want Obama to win, McCain just seems so backwards and old, and Palin is just not experienced enough. Obama acts and looks like a president, and it would be a massive step if a Black man was elected as president. I just hope all of his supporters don't back down at the last minute and decide to vote for McCain.

Actually Palin is alot more experienced than Obama
and I don't like race being thrown into the mix. Who cares if the president is white or black as long as he does a great job. I agree with what someone said on C4 news earlier that black people shouldn't vote for Obama because he is black the same that white people shouldn't vote against him for the same reasons. I do think when it is crunch time some people will vote for McCain after saying they will vote for Obama or that they were undecided.

Crying when your Grandma has just died and wont see you possibly win the presidential election is not weak or shouldnt be considered as appearing weak, it is perfectly understandable given the weeks of campaigning hes done and the exhaustion emtionally and physically he must be feeling anyway! Doesnt matter where or who you happen to be! I don't hate him, I don't hate Mc Cain either.. I don't care about who wins, seriously. And don't take my words out of the context: I never said crying is weak, I said that, as a politician you must be strong and focussed...but obviously it's a plan to bring more votes. I have a few other issues with Crime & Punishment and Taxes, but I just wont get into that.
Let's hope you guys know the equivalents instead of just supporting Barack because he's black and McCain's old:
Republicans are the Conservative Party.
Democrats are the Labour Party.
Go Spike.
How insulting for you to suggest that people are just supporting Obama because he is black. And yes, people know which parties in the UK are the equivalent to the US parties. We are not stupid just because we disagree with you.
And I don't know how many times people have to be told this - Obama is NOT a socialist. The people who are calling him that either don't know what socialism is, or they don't really know Obama's policies.
Signing off now. I am in the US, where the country is gripped by election fever. Aye, I too am tired of people playing the "because he is black" card, Obama is a clever guy, you can tell, McCain is just well, "Old school"
McCain is so going to win this.

Thats optimism for you.. I noticed ITV is being bias, they seem to support the Republicans
Then again, this isnt strictly news, and they are presenting all the info correctly
...I just want people to know, I will still be happy if Obama wins, I just agreed with more of McCains debate.
Just so you know I'm not all "OMG AMERICA SUCKS IF OBAMA WINS!"
Both will be great presidents.
