Forecaster's at Kwik Weather for Scotland are forecasting a colder end to the week for Northern Areas as low pressure moves in on the scene.

Heavy Rain will move in from the west during tomorrow accompanied by strong NE winds giving a cold edge to things. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 0 degress celcius for most possbily negative values toward the end of the week, meaning that falling rain will turn to sleet and snow across Northern areas of the UK.

KWFS Meteorologist Rob Howard adds: " It look's as if Winter will arrive early for parts of the UK as heavy rain and cold temperatures sweep across the country. Freeze Warnings will be in affect from Friday Night too as temperatures could dip as low as -5 degrees celcius. It looks as if no accumilation will occur for most due to wet surfaces from day time rainfall"

It is only October and already snow and ice is forecast, could this be a sign of things to come?

Yep, I was out all day yesterday and it was very cold, like the sorta cold we'd experience in January. I actually felt so ill coz of it, was horrible.

It's only forecast rain from where I am.

Probably just northern places will get it.

I'd noticed this already, it seems to feel like winter already, even though no trees are brown! It's weird, it feels like we've totally missed out on the slight chill but pleasantness of autumn!
