LEONA Lewis is set to boost Shayne Ward’s career by offering him some of her cast-off tracks.

Simon Cowell, who looks after both X Factor winners, asked MOBO nominee Taio Cruz to write material for 23-year-old Leona’s new album.

But the tracks are so good Cowell, 48, is considering handing them over to Shayne, 24, to help Leona’s stablemate.

Taio told me: “I submitted five songs for Leona’s album but it looks like Simon Cowell might consider giving them to Shayne Ward instead.

“I wrote the songs with Leona in mind but they want Shayne to do well so we’ll have to see where they end up.”

In keeping with Leona’s biggest hits, the tracks Taio produced are all ballads.

He explained: “I personally think you should play to people’s strengths.

“Some writers are trying to give her dance tunes. But most people remember Mariah Carey for her big ballads and I think that’s the same for Leona.”

Taio, 23, is hot property at the moment and he’s even helping R&B legend R Kelly, 41, get back on track.

Taio said: “I’ve just recorded a track with R Kelly.

“I’m actually a featured artist on it so it could be my springboard to US success.”

Not that young Londoner Taio needs a leg-up, considering he’s currently writing for some of the biggest stars in America.

He added: “A lot of artists are using my songs. I’ve been working with producer Jim Beanz on new Justin Timberlake stuff as well as Britney’s new album.

“She’s an amazing pop artist.”

Busy Taio will also perform live with Sugababes at the MOBO awards in London on October 15.

From what I can remember Ignition was his comeback single after having a break for a couple of years.

And they obviously won't be very good considering more than half of Leona's album is utter crap.

Leona should get them seeing as she co-wrote them.

In the article Taio says 'I wrote them'.

&Ghettosuperstar;; I agree in the sense that Leona's album wasn't good, but hopefully Shayne can work with these tracks and prevent them being dull.
He is successful, but he deserves much more.
