i was wondering what the gold stars are for under someones custom status ?

i've always wondered.. i guessed something to do with post counts?
but aren't they red?

they are different colours depending what theme you have on and the more posts the make the more stars you get

They have to do with how many posts you have. The more you get the more you earn. Admin and mods have different coloured ones too.
