Not that I know anything about iMovie, but if it's like any other video editor, you wouldn't be able to edit the .mov directly.

Try starting a new iMovie project and import the clip for editing? (Surely you must be able to import a .mov )

Find the "To adjust the speed of a video clip:" section.

Is that what you're looking for?

I know iMovie was completely revamped a while ago, so I'm not sure if it still works

This says iMovie '06 is free for iMovie '08 users.

Maybe you could download it and try it?

But seriously, I hate the new iMovie. It's extremely ugly.

I just downgraded to iMovie 06 for all the stuff, exported it then imported it into iMovie 08.
