Round 4
This round your theme is Rainbow.
This might sound very similar to the other theme but this time I'm asking you take a picture that includes all the colours of the rainbow.


Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too!

Yes Indeed I can sing a rainbow, but can you take a picture consisting of those colours?
Your Picture does not have to be of a rainbow.

So there are the themes;;
- Remember entries must be in by Saturday 11th October before 6.00 pm
- U2U your entries to Xander


Rules
- You are not allowed to copy images off of the net, I WILL track the original source down of the image if I'm suspicious, and believe me don't go there.
- They must be taken by you, you are allowed to recieve advice from others but they themselves are not allowed to take the picture.
- Late entries will not be excepted.
- It can be a existing photo that you have taken, but preferably a newer one would be better.
- It has to be a still image.
- You can't show other people your picture before it is posted.

Rules On Editing;
You ARE allowed to;;
- Resize
- Crop
- Change the image to full B&W or Full SEPIA, not a mixture of the two or any other color.
- Sharpen

You are NOT allowed to;;
- Use lighting effects.
- Blurring.
- Enhance The Picture. ( Change the contrast/brightness.)
- You can not use effects such as, Overlay, Lighten, Screen etc... on any picture.
- No text, or borders.
- No effects such as changing the exposure, selective colour etc..

The picture has to include those colours, so yes something like that would count as it includes those colours.

I didn't say it has to be of a rainbow, I said it has to include all of those colours that are normally found in a rainbow, oil was just a hint of what creates those colours.

What's the point in doing a photography competition if you're going to revolve 2 tasks around the same element? Those being colour? Exposure should be considered, landscapes, seascapes, nightlife, still life, conceptual, that sort of stuff.

So far the themes I have set have notbeen so typical but have tried to be interesting. The reason why this theme is similar to the last is because I wanted to extend on the previous theme. If you just going to keep critisizinf me I would prefer you not to comment in my thread.

I personally think the themes are great. Challenging, but they're interesting. They're not boring same-old stuff you'd expect. I think Xander's doing a great job with this game [that I slightly regret not entering haha] :thumbs:

but its all a bit of fun same as the other games on Tibb, and as for the comment about taking pics of colours is something 7 year olds could do i think this is rubbish i now for me the only reason i have a little whinge about the themes is cos they push my boundaries and safe zones (i am very much someone who takes portraits only) i have enjoyed the comp as i am sure the others have and it was/is a fab idea from Xander

I merely wanted to make this fair for everyone, so that everyone had a chance.
Your choices of themes I find quite bleak and typical (as I have said), the themse that i have chosen throughout this contest I have tried to make interesting rather than something simple as landscapes. I wanted to test peoples creativity and actually think about there photo rather than taking it without any thought, and so far I have tried my best to do that.
Yes the concept of taking pictures of colours might seem a little babyish, but you will find that it is a relatively hard theme to do, as some people have said on here. Yes its quite simple to take pictures of some colours but then the photo would be uninteresting, so thats why this theme is taking picture consisiting of those colours to make the photo more interesting.
I tried my best in this contest, but obviously it isn't good enough for some people.

Xander this has been a brilliant competition - as a viewer I've really enjoyed it and always voted. I think the themes were good considering all the age groups and different cameras /abilities. The best was the "energy" one as you really had to think.

I am thinking of hosting this, not 100% sure but it will run for 4 weeks, 8 contestants, and with the introduction of judges this time.

I was out with my mates earlier .. and it started raining! So we all went in this bush xD (Litterally xD) to stay dry, we came out like 5 mins later, and there's a full rainbow! I was likew OMG! I have had my camera with me permantly for like 3 days.. and I go out ONCE! and theres a rainbow!

LemonJam's day.

So I arrive at the bus stop early morning carrying my big rucksack, a pe kit and a violin when suddenly there is a beautiful scene of a rainbow setting into the sea

I thought to myself "Me gots to get a bit of that"

So I decided to run home and grab my camera (I needed it for art anyway) and then I ran back up to the bus stop.

Camera out and ready, I was walking towards the bus stop when suddenly the bus arrived! I was about 50 metres away from it, so I was running with a huge rucksack, a pe bag and violin running towards a bus and tyring to take pictures of a rainbow going into the sea.

I get onto the bus with ALOT of strange looks but I knew it was worth it.

I looked down to see the photos my camera had taken.

Turns out it ran out of battery before I tried taking the pictures. I looked like a complete twat for nothing XD

I am thinking of hosting this, not 100% sure but it will run for 4 weeks, 8 contestants, and with the introduction of judges this time. And also the themese are Xmas based, LOL hence the Xmas Special.

Well because Scampi said to me he can't get his photo done until saturday night or something like that, because he doesn't have the right stuff for the photo? Which I regret saying he could have slightly longer and it has really did muck up everything, as I was going to have it on Saturday Night with Voting ending on the Following time the same night, but now it looks like Sunday Night - Monday Night. :bored:

I know, BUT... I did just U2U him asking when the earliest he can get it, I should of kept the deadline at that time/day otherwise its unfair on everyone else as they could of had longer to plan out there photo, but we shall see.

- Two Contestants will go this week.
- Once again vote for your favorite 2.
- Next week is the final, there will be five contestants in the final. (alot I know)
- Although there are 5 in the final, I will work the voting differently, you will see. :wink:
- Next week you will be asked to take more than one photo, all will become clear. :)
