View Full Version : Old format v new format
Old format- 3 judges, 3 categories- 16-24s, 25+ and the groups. 4 in each category (3 in series 1).
New format- 4 judges, 4 categories- 14-24 boys, 14-24 girls, 25+ and the groups. 3 in each category.
Which format do you prefer? For me it definitely has to be the old format, I really liked the Louis/Sharon/Simon days. I don't think they'll ever be able to recreate the magic without just the three of them. I also just prefer fewer categories but more contestants in each.

The old one was better, imo. Might I add that there was only three in each category in series 2.
I prefer the new cause the girls/boys have more talent.

That was the first year there were 12 acts in total, 4 acts in each category.

I'm almost sure it was like that in series 2 aswell. Cos I remember there being a big deal of there being four acts in each category in series 3 when Simon changed his mind about Ray.

Newer
I much prefer the new format.Gives more young talent the chance to go through, only having three 16-24's was never enough in my view.
