A theory on why Rachel won

I’m sorry if I am a bit late on this or if it has been discussed before, but I just got done watching the series tonight. I think that if BB didn’t have the double eviction two nights before the end, or if Kat wasn’t evicted and both Kat and Rachel were in the final, Michael or Sarah would have won. I think Kat and Rachel were drawing votes from the same group of people splitting up that pool. Once Kat got evicted, all of Kat’s votes went to Rachel giving her enough to edge out Michael and Sarah. :eureka:

Has anybody discussed this or look into the numbers (if BB releases them).

Yeh, I think its a possibility. This year there was an obvious decline in voters though and really for the first time in a main series I think the forums really chose who went.

Personally I was pulling for Sarah, but what I like about the show is the public aspect of it. I have my perspective, but the people of the UK always seem to have a bit of a different one.:wavey:

I think it got to a stage in the show that all the main people had left bar Rex and a lot of people had stopped watching - a lot of people on here did including myself.

It got to a stage for a lot of people that they didnt care who won it.

The ratings were pretty much consistant throughout.

And it was the publics favourites, they'd all (apart from Mikey) been up for eviction against big favourites and surivived, making them publics favourites. Lisa is the only one that was loved by the public that was evicted.

I think if the public had only been allowed to vote once, Mikey would have won. Rachel edging Mikey in the final was probably due to bookmakers block-voting. I still believe Mikey is, quite rightly, the people's favourite.

That is why the whole "acting" argument doesn't wash with me. It is much more likely she was acting during her promo clip to get on the show. I find it funny people say "well, did you see her promo clip!". Well, yes, I did see a heavily edited promo clip BB produced but I also saw 13 weeks of her in the house. There are a lot of reasons why she won but the biggest reason I´d say Judging by various Rachel appreciation threads et cetera, is her being so damn likeable in a charismatic way.

Not everybody think she´s charismatic and that´s fine.
But my feeling with Rachel is there´s something almost addicting to her to a lot of people. she obviously have a lot of die hard fans because of that charisma of her that´s more than just being a nice and cute girl.


Some other reasons:

* She´s a "good guy" wich is necessary to be in order to win.

* Always involved in some storyline and always came out looking good.

* She´s a bit innocent and didn´t provoke the younger girls by behaving sexual like Sam did in BB6 or walk around in a bikini like Aisleyne in BB7. It´s okay for guys to be very sexual but girls can´t afford it in order to win. I belive many younger girls wants to have a girl as their favorite housemates and Rachel wasn´t a girl who chased them away. It´s speaks volume that Rachel eliminated the only "sexy boy" left in a 1 vs 1 eviction.

* She never made a mayor misstake the entire season to damage her image and chanches of winning. The same thing can not be said about all of the the last seven housemates.

Die-hard B-Block fans with their multiple votes made the difference. Even after Darnell & Rex were gone, Rachel was THE last hope for some kind of happy ending for B-Block. :bigsmile:

Mindless? So you're saying there that people aren't thinking when they vote.

Ignorant? Ignorant means we are uninformed. People were informed of all the facts during the series and the majority liked Rachel the best after all this series.

And we are not sheep. I did not vote Rachel when other people did it too. Most people voted Rachel because they liked her.

i think rachel one for several reasons

1. Voters who hated luke voted for her becuase they wanted to see lukes face
2. I dont mean to be stereotypical but wales would have voted for her
3. She was the nicest housemate in there
4. she got all of kats votes

Just to let rachel fans know that I sent a congrats card to rachel after she won BB9. Yesterday i had a card and pic back from rachel!! She said thanks 4 the support, it meant a lot, and that she's had a fab time at the shoots she's done, and Disney............and she's met the Twins ('nice girls'), who I told her spoke up for her, amongst others, on bblb. For those in the know, she uses the 'smiley' quite a lot in the reply!!
