Stuart has made an impassioned plea to be friends with Big Brother - with little success.

"I've come to make friends!!!" he shouted on his arrival in the Diary Room. "Let's just be friends."

His intention to get pally with the master of the House was met with silence.

Undaunted by the muted reception he persisted, offering a towel and a coloured hoop as a peace offering and laying them on the arm of the chair.

But Big Brother was in no mood to play ball (or hoop) and remained unresponsive.

Waving the hoop, Stuart suggested, "These are fun for throwing on things."

Reiterating his intention to be chums, he insisted, "It's time to just say... now is not the time for us to fall out".

And after Stuart revealed there was an "atmosphere" in the House, Big Brother finally spoke, asking him to elaborate.

Stuart laughed, telling Big Brother, "You've been a little cold with us today." And he was literal, talking of chilly temperatures in the bedroom and cold water in the bathroom. Not only that, Big Brother had sneakily swiped their "choicy" food.

"Big Brother's just not feeling the housemates' vibe," accused Stuart. Still he pleaded to be friends again, beseechingly displaying open palms to the camera.

Admitting the housemates hadn't been cooperative over the last few days he apologised and continued his appeal.

Again, Big Brother offered no response.

"Whaddya say?" he prompted.

Eventually Big Brother asked Stuart why he had adopted the role of "an envoy for peace".

Mission accomplished... sort of

Talking of the stand-off between the housemates and the all-seeing one, he clenched his fists under his chin imploring, "It's just time!!.... We've all just got to be as one!"

"You've got to let the barriers down," he urged, "and just let... the good times roll!"

Ignoring Stuart's passionate request for a truce, Big Brother fired questions at the A grader.

At the end of a conversation punctuated by long silences, Stuart was no closer to fulfilling his objective.

After brusquely being instructed to leave the Diary Room Stuart tentatively said he would leave his peace offerings there.

But Big Brother was having none of it, ordering: "Take it with you Stuart."

That went well, then....
