Yep, my weekly bash Eoghan thread :joker:

Anyway I think tonight when he tried to have power and go into vibrato (you know, his Leona moment where he closed his eyes and looked up :rolleyes:) just completely failed, he started to whisper and shown he has no power in his voice whatsoever. All I can say about Eoghan is EPIC FAIL.

He's got a weak voice - a good voice, but nothing to write home about. Next week will show him up. Hopefully he'll be out in a few weeks time, but I'd like to see Scott, Rachel and Daniel leave before him (and I'm expecting Ruth to leave soon too)

But like it or not, so far, he has nailed the 2 songs he was given! He was great! Dont forget, Ray couple years ago, didnt exactly have a strong voice, but he finished 2nd! And until he has a bad week, I dont think its fair to say anything about him! Yep he may or may not struggle with nabd week, and I predict that he may, but you never know. Simon will probably give him a song like that Ray number he did, forgot the song, but it was good! MY way I think!

Ray had quite a strong voice, I thought... But you're right, you don't need a strong voice to do well. Dionne was an epic fail a couple of years ago!

Eoghan = David Archuleta
Austin = David Cook

Hopefully the public will see though this.

Me and my mum noticed that, he did the closing eyes thing on a note that wasnt hard to reach at all... we were like... wtf?

If you was on mute you would think he was giving a power note but it was just his rubbish whispery moan.

You hit the nail right in the head, he did it with Owen singing exactly David Archuleta's imagine, but i think Louis is starting to expose him! He made it a point on Austins song tonight, so Simon is gonna have to be more inventive, if not, Louis gonna call him out every time!

yeah people in america tend to sing much better than we do... much bigger country .. bigger talent
i just cant stand americans thats why i dont watch it haha and i dont like the way they dont really do anything when they sing like the stage is tiny

Trouble is Eoghan isn't anywhere near as good as Archuleta.

As for Austin, he might have got the same arrangement as David Cook but he's got a totally different voice.

I agree with both of your observations. If you start comparing them to their American Idol equivalents they both fall a long way of the mark.

That is the problem with they might have good points, but neither of them are world class singers. And in the case of Eoghan his voice isn't strong and he is going to find it hard next week.

I thought that until she sang this week. Her voice does have more power than I thought it did and it will be interesting to she if the voice coaches can find more of that power as the show goes on.

no, i actually think that the two performances hes done have been really good.. he hasnt "whispered" like he was like in he auditions.. last night was strong too just the note he could of put a bit more power into and it would of been reeeeeeeally really good!

He doesn't whisper though, if anyone whispers it's, as much as I like her, Diana. You can clearly make out what he sings, well I can anyways dunno about everyone else.

i think austins voice is better but scotts i dont think is.. its just an average boring voice.. he can sing but not greatly
hes got a good personality though but nothing special about his voice

Diana doesn't whisper much, and when she does it seems intentional. It suits her style and she does have power in her voice when she wants to use it.

Eoghan just has no power and it makes him sound really weak. I can make out what he's singing, there are just a lot of better acts in the competition. He shouldn't have even made the final 24 IMO.

I have to turn my volume up when Eoghan sings because his voice is so quiet and weak. He has a nice voice but there is no power behind it. He struggled with some notes last night.

There will be more echo live in the studio... we hear it straight from the mic. Audience members hear it from a speaker echoing off the walls... so its very different. But I cant imagine it sounding that much different...

Eoghan..

God last night he was out of his depth. He should not have sung that. His voice was alright and he was in tune etc. But that song is soooo hard to sing because its sooo slow so you need to have your breathing spot on and your voice cant worble. And then as if that wasnt bad enough.. he was singing acappella. That was the wrong way to go like. Ben is a really hard song. Simon must have been mental to do that to him. Having it acappella was just going to show his weakness in his voice and show his voice isnt actually that strong. Ooooo what a risk.

Big band will see if he can handle this competition.

Look I dont like Owen, didnt want him in the competition, whatever, but I judge them on the live show, and so far, he's been flawless. There is not that many high notes to hit on that song, so he was perfect. Everything else is speculation!
