Thats not what I am saying at all! What it shows is some people can get away with average performances, and some dont!
I thought Diana was average, Rachel was average, alex was average, ruth and laura were average. The boys, I thought Daniel was awful! Clearly the others have a bigger fan base, and they sail through regardless! Meaning Ruth would have to be amaing every week to survive! So if not next week, its in the following couple of week! Eventually!

I was classing Diana, Laura, Alexandra and Austin as the "good ones". Can't make my mind up to what one will go first, but it will be one of the girls.

Not from tonight they didnt! Lets be fair people. Austin's performance was amaing ronight! Yeah I know he ropped off Chris cornell, but so did david cook, and its a talent show, thats what they do. He was better than all the girls tonight, and I dont even like him!

No he ripped off David Cook doing Chris Cornell.

It wasn't Austin doing Chris Cornell... it was a third generation copy and it showed.

When David Cook did it, most people hadn't heard of the Chris Cornell version of Billy Jean and that made it special.

He sang a what is now a very safe version of Billy Jean because Simon saw it work on pop idol.

What a dull and boring man Simon is becoming in his old age.

No I hated the arrangement and IMO he shouldn't have been allowed to do it- it wasn't strictly Michael Jackson.

Probably Ruth. She's a good singer but I don’t think she has much of a fan base.

As for Austin doing that horrendous version of Billy Jean? That arrangement simply does not work. Each time I've seen that done the vocals have been great but Billy Jean is a great pop song; I have no idea what anyone could call that version other than self indulgent garbage. Austin's vocals were good but that arrangement completely put me off him. That arrangement is a prime exhibit why there are some artists who never allow cover versions of their songs.
