X Factor Laura White almost walked over pressure of being favouriteJazz singer Laura White nearly walked out of the show last week - because she can't cope with being the favourite.

Proud dad Adrian, 50, says she wanted to quit before the first live show last weekend.

"She was calling home from London every night in tears," he said. "Being the favourite puts so much pressure on her."

But Laura, 21, overcame her nerves and gave a showstopping performance that won her a standing ovation from the judges including Simon Cowell, who called her "outstanding". She is clear favourite to win the £1million record deal on offer when the show ends in December.

Laura's parents didn't realise she could sing until she was 14.

Adrian, of Atherton, Lancs, said: "She asked if she could enter a singing contest. I said 'Why love? Can you sing?'"

TBH i don't understand why she is fave.

She is ok, one of the better there, but there are a few who are much better than her.

Her performances are average overall, with glimpses of excellent singing. If she could hold the excellent parts throughout the entire song, then I would like her more.

Awww, Laura is one of the best singers there. Her, Alex and Diana are by far the best. Laura has amazing voice, it's really powerful. And she is still second fav to win.
