X Factor - Is it over for Alexandra Burke?Alexandra Burke might be one of the favourites to make the X Factor final but she will have to hope for a miracle in the next week if she wants to survive.
The competition is hotting up with Scott Bruton, Eoghan Qugg and Austin Drage all rasing their game and competing with the girls.
Alexandra has sung twice now with a bad throat and her fans are worried that she will cause herself permanent damage if she keeps singing.
Her voice coach explained: "Alexandra's voice is amazing but when she gets overexcited she uses the throat and strains her voice."
She has been told to sup honey and lemon and try not to speak in a bid to improve her throat.
Alexandra told the official X Factor website: "I'm not sure about that - it makes me looks diva-ish."
We better all hope that Alexandra does as she's been told otherwise she might be forced to quit the competition.
Her mentor Cheryl Cole would be devastated if she left as she is hoping there will be an all girl final this year.

She seems to have the least support out of the girls on the forums, I think she'll be out a few weeks before the final.

Alex has nothing to worry about, she is by far better then the guys, they can hot their game up all they want, they will never be as good as the 3 girls.

In theory you would think three girls would make it through to the final 3, and you would expect Alexandra would be one of them. Especially given the fact that the 5 girls after all the best singers.
However saying that, I think Rachel will fall on her own sword by doing things Rachel's way and not listening to those that know better before long. While Ruth doesn't have the public support and the only way she will make it is by singing like she did in this weeks sing off and that won't happen, she will mess up at some point.
So that leaves under 25 female group all in the final 3.
The only reason I can see for Alexandra not getting in the final 3 is the female voters voting for Austin although he isn't as good as the girls.

Hopefully she will not need to pull out of the competition.
She has a really bad throat this week and did a brilliant job so I have a feeling that it could just make people feel sorry for her so they will vote to keep her in.

That didn't work for Ruth, she was ill too but she didn't get people voting for her because they felt sorry for her.
Clearly hardly anyone voted for her and she ended up in the bottom even though her song wasn't the second worse in the show.

She was ill though - didnt have a sore throat - I know what you are saying but as soon as someone says they have a sore throat you automatically think it will effect their voice whereas just being ill will not.
The thing about Ruth is that she is a brilliant singer and has a voice like Laura and Alexandra - except sometimes she sings in spanish. I agree with Simon and I think that is why she was in the bottom two. They do not need another belting female vocalist in the competition. They have three of those including Rachel. The spanish thing was what made her different and those fans that she had maybe let her down.
Wildcat!

Oh, she'll be fine! I think they always make a big deal about voice issues! Cmon they perform for like 5 minutes. How bout artists that go on tour and perform for hours everyday!

The thing that Ruth has that we have yet to see from Alexandra is passion and raw emotion. If anything it makes her a better singer than Alexandra as could be seen when she covered Purple Rain.
However at the moment Alexandra is constantly very good in the live shows, while Ruth has been a bit up and down. What we will need to see Alexandra is some emotion and passion as the show goes on if she is to make it all the way.
If Ruth could get her passion, emotion and energy into every live performance from here on in she could turn it around and then Alexandra better look out because she is a potential threat.
Finally if I had to sum all the girls at the moment tis is where I'd say they stand after two live performances:
1. Alexandra - consistently very good professional performances without taking any risks.
2. Diana - amazing natural presence and a unique voice and a breath of fresh air for x-factor.
3. Laura - very powerful jazz/blues type voice which when singing the right category songs blows everything away.
4. Ruth - Inconstant performances in the live show but has potential to be the most moving of the female singers if she puts all her passion, emotion and energy into a song.
5. Rachel - a bit of a also ran who hasn't proved she deserved a place in the final 12 yet mainly because she too head strong to listen to what people are telling her.
