went round my nans today and my nans cat who is called felix and is 14 is dying :bawling: as he is collapsing on the floor and is in the corner dribbling on his side and it looks as though he has gone blind as when we wave our hands he is just staring not one movement in the eye and he is so skinny my nan is really upset. he cant even move he is breathing thats it he aint even driniking water. we are calling the vet tommorow to put him to sleep but my nan doesnt want to do it i dont know why. we explained he is in pain but she is finding it hard he was her first cat and is so lovely. will miss him:sad:

Aw its horrible when you see a animal in pain, I think the best thing to do is put it down I think your doing your nan's cat a favour to, I don't think it really wants to be in pain. :)

I agree with Xander, although I know it must be hard.

Oh no! I hate seeing animals when they're like that. I can't imagine the pain it must be in.

i no exactly how your nan feels my cat of 18 years died in june i was devestated :bawling: he had most of the symptoms that Felix has  if he is in pain then he does need to be taken to the vets, but if he isn't keep him in his home and let him go in the comfort of the home! it will be very hard for your nan especially if she lives alone? maybe you could do something to remember him by planting a tree in a special place! it will get easier although it doesn't seem like it now:sad: but after a while your nan will remember the good times and the crazy things felix used to do! :flower:

I'm sorry to hear that, I hate stuff like that.

I'd literally have an emotional breakdown if my cat Princess or Tippy got ill.

Aw. Horrible news. I hate seeing animals in pain
Well if he is put down you can be happy remembering he had a great long life and that he went in the most comfortable way possible.

my nan isthihking to put him to sleep tommorow BUT he might go tonight as he is not moving at all and is dribbiling. he is soooo skinny he wasnt eating the pat few weeks only small amount we took him to vet when he wasnt eating they said they eat less when they are old. i think i will get a plant or something to remeber him as he is my fave cat aswell as he was the 1st cat i brought to my nans when i was a toddler lol. My nan already has another cat but he isnt really a home cat he is always out but the other one my nan has was licking felix he knows that he isnt well:hug:

Losing a pet can be the same "or even worse" than losing a friend or aquaintance.

I have been there done it and wore that t shirt very sadly.

Cried for hours.

It was horrible.
