X Factor's Eoghan 'will get better'The best is yet to come for the X Factor’s Eoghan Quigg, his father Chris said last night.

The Dungiven singer has already impressed the judges and the public with his “pure” voice, but his dad reckons Eoghan will get even better as the competition progresses.

“We haven’t seen the best of Eoghan yet, he can really hit some notes and doesn’t have to force his voice at all,” he said.

“It’s a natural talent and although he’s done well with the last two songs, there’s still more in there.”

Chris was travelling over to London today with the biggest party from Dungiven yet.

“There’s nine of us going over, although one isn’t going to the show,” he said.

“As well as me there’s my wife Denise’s four sisters, Orla, Caroline, Anne Marie and Shauna, a couple of the husbands and Anne Marie’s daughter Shannon. It’s important that we’re there every week to support him. The support from all over the country has been unbelievable but we have to be there too to cheer him on.”

Eoghan’s mum Denise will have to give the journey a miss again as she is expecting a baby in a few weeks time.

“She’s not too happy that she can’t go over to see him but he’s on the phone to us every day,” said Chris.

“It’s like he’s not away at all. We speak to him all the time, so she’s not worried about him. She knows he’s having a great experience and that he’s loving every minute of it.”

Chris said the recent reports of a fatwa against the X Factor over a charity single for British soldiers had given him cause for concern.

But he said Eoghan seemed relaxed about the whole thing.

“They haven’t noticed anything different, but there will be heightened security on Saturday night,” he said.

“Obviously my number one priority would be for my son’s health and safety but he is OK and that’s the main thing.”

And he said he hoped the people of Northern Ireland would continue to vote for the 16-year-old.

“He’s doing a Big Band number this week, but I don’t want to give too much away,” he said.

“I just hope he stays in longer so everyone can hear him at his best.”

My mate was over in this part of Ireland a couple of weeks ago and people have painted the sides of their house with Eoghan and covered their cars in banners and posters in the windows.

We had streets covered in Leon things last year but nobody painted the sides of their houses!

It's one way to make people vote for him I guess, because he isn't going to do well tonight with his weak voice, and nor is Diana, it's not her style of music.

I can see him going a way into the competition but I dont think he'll win.

He'll be a puppy in a sea of sharks
