Nadia and Shell finally informed Dan about the extent of Stuart and Michelle's intimacy, as the three of them relaxed on the decking after their ice cream.
It began as a Sex & The City chat and a laugh about the show's character Samantha and oral sex.
"I can't wait to see Michelle's face, speaking of the subject," said Nadia. "Does Dan know about it?" she asked.
Dan did not. But Shell spelt out their night under the table on Day 54.
"She used the bird-watching euphemism," she told him. "She... saw a swallow."
Dan did not need further explanation. Open-jawed, he was incredulous. "And you waited until now to tell me?" he protested.
...well I never!
"She's going to turn him into a proper man," promised Nadia, mischievously.
"He won't survive. Poor boy," said Dan, fearing for the student Stu's life.
"Poor her!" corrected Nadia. "She had to do all the work." Then, after a little reflection, she said, "Well, she must have enjoyed it," to which Dan agreed.
"Where have you been the last couple of weeks, darling?" asked Nadia of Dan.
Not having as much fun as Michelle and Stuart, apparently...
