Mariah Carey will perform her new single 'I Stay In Love' on The X Factor next month.

"Mariah is one of the most successful female artists of all time," a source told The Sun. "It's going to blow Strictly Come Dancing out the water.

"Simon [Cowell] loves Mariah - he's always comparing acts to her. And finally all the compliments have paid off. It's amazing to have such a big name singing on a British talent show."

Carey joins a lineup of singers scheduled to appear on the programme which includes Britney Spears, Will Young and Beyoncé.

Carey will sing on the November 8 show.

YES! Amazing news, I love Mariah. There's so many great artists performing on XF this year! :dance2:

I love her! I don't love all of her songs, but some of them I REALLY like.

Ugh, she comes across as self obsessed. I don't like the more recent "I think I'm an R&B artist" stuff, it's naff, but her older work is great. Hopefully her new single falls into the latter category... Anyone heard it?

Never used to like her, so slutty.

But I absolutely L:love:VED Touch My Body and listened to some of her other stuff and she's actually got a really great voice. Definitely have an appreciation for her now.

I heard it when the album came out :laugh: It's called I Stay In Love.
