Give it a few weeks and I expect they'll be releasing the DVD, I can imagine that this DVD will do better than the last one! I'll be buying it to add to my BB collection

They should bring out a seperate DVD with an 18 certificate to include the fight and other bits not suitable for family viiewing. I'm sure it would be a big seller and more money for the programme makers.:spin2:

Indeed they should. but will they.!!!
This is the first year in the history of BB that they have exploited the series by being flexible with the running time of the update shows. It's a pity they can't be flexible with the DVD's too and make available a collection for those that want a more comprehensive version than just a single DVD covering 9 or 10 weeks. It's always been far far short of what was really needed.
Last year the DVD came out about two weeks after the end of BB4. I don't know if they are doing the same this year. I hope so.

Where did you hear that and do you know what paper?
Hi, DOG. :wavey:
In today's Sun there is a big advert on page 20 saying:
Coming Tomorrow
Free Big Brother DVD
... all the Best Bits
You can't buy it . . . it's only from the Sun
(20p postage required)

That's true. I have BB 1 & 2 on video and both tapes running time are 90 minutes :bawling: The BB 2 tape doesn't even include one of my all time favourite BB moments from the final week when some kids shouted over the fence: "Helen get your <:cat:> out!" and Helen asking Dean sitting in the garden what they shouted. :bawling:

now this is one dvd i will definatley be buying!
The first couple of BB uncuts were 18 cert. As far as I'm concerned if they're lower, it means they're too tame and not worth buying anyway.

Just for the record by the end of the series I have used "30 DVD-R discs" with an average run time of about 1hour 50 min. That brings into perspective how inadequate a single DVD is.......
You should be able to fit more, maybe you were just using a single layer? A retail DVD will be dual-layer and can hold loads.

There has been a change in the censorship laws since BB Uncut 1 and 2 came out that is why Uncut 3 and 4 were 15 and the first two were 18.

Apparently people have e-mailed Channel 4 about the DVD and they've been told there isn't going to be a BB5 DVD.:bawling:
The one in The Sun (which I didn't get) is all there is going to be!
I didn't get the Sun either! I was sure there'd be an official C4 one!

The Sun one will be a rushed job..... Channel 4 will want to do properly. What do they know about DVD's they can't even write good newspaper copy.

Apparently it has been confirmed by channel 4 that there will be NO BB5 DVD other than the Sun's 45 minute effort.....

I think there is a petition being organised on Digital Spy. Don't expect it will make a difference but if you feel that passionate can't do any harm.......
It's all down to profit I suppose. the DVD's probably are not a great source of income especially after last years flop.
This year of course there will be many thousands who have recorded it onto DVD anyway with VHS rapidly becoming dead in the water...which means there is little point in generating a DVD unless they had something especially different to show...That may be a factor in not releasing one this year.....

what a shame, 45 minutes is not enough, if it was bb4 then it would have filled up 45 minutes quite nicely or even less. but this is bb5 and alot of interesting things happened, i dont know how they can cram it all in 45 minutes!!
I know last year's flopped, but I know a lot of people would want one for this year's. I'm sure BB1 and BB2's DVDs sold really well. BB5's would do equally well, or possibly better.
This is the reply that a poster on the Digital Spy forums got to their email.
Unfortunately we understand your frustrations but we sold the rights to a highlight DVD at least 3 months before the series started. As you may have heard sales of the 4th DVD were poor and it was a risk we were not willing to take again. Our contract states that we can't release a DVD this year but it will be looked at next year where we hope to work something out.
At this time the only DVD that will be available is the promotional DVD with the Sun.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot else to say on the matter

Fools.... the material from this show would make the best ever big brother DVD and they sold the rights to the SUN for a year.
And we have to wait for a year.... and then it won't happen.
There is no way that they won't issue a dvd theyare in this to make money i'd look out for the christmas market and they would be fools not to put out a dvd of the Stu and Michelle stoty as well:love:

I think it’s only this year that they can’t, they’ll be able to bring out a DVD from January 2005.

as long as they do make one
I think if we all email C4 then they may do a DVD/Video early next year.
