She was killed in a car accident just 5 minutes from where I live. She was my cousins ex and was very close friends and family with some of my friends. Its been since summer 2007 since she was killed, and the person who was responsible for it, is being fined £1000 for it!! That is ridiculous!! £1000 on a poor 17 year olds life who had her life all ahead of her!!! No money can buy anyones life!! He was the same age as her and he knew her and all of her family.Im disgusted, he is walking free and has said "He's sorry", he was behind the wheel drunk and stoned and all he gets is a fine of £1000! I hope he lives with this burden on him forever, Jade was young and talented and her and her family did not deserve 1 second of this pain. I dont understand how innocent people's lives are taken away, when there are bad people still walking the streets!!
Here is a group dedicated to Jade on Facebook:

Sorry my mistake, the guy who did this was in the same car as Jade and was her boyfriend, and she had apparently been arguing over his drinking early in the day and he had recently taken drugs, and thats when everything happened, he doesnt even seem sorry for it.

See you corrected the poop there!:tongue:
That really is awful he should at least be on a couple years probation or something.

urgh, that is disgusting. 1000k is nothing for the price of a life
Someone near me was fined £250 and given 3 points in their license for running over a 13 year old girl and killing her

also, thats disgusting.. I'd like to think that if I was hit by some cock driving drunk and stoned it'd be worth more than £1000, and i'm pretty sure her life was too :shocked:

According to the law, the death is just incidental.
There is supposed to be a new offence of causing death by careless driving.

There is that offence as well, but prior to the new law if the brief could show it was not dangerous, but careless, then the death did not count.
Maybe that is what happened in the other cases noted here :rolleyes:

I know.
It can be used in two terms:
1000k = 1000 thousand
or
1000k = 1000 pounds.
From where i am anyway.
