Undercover as a taxi driver, DC Terry Perkins is parked along the Embankment as the sun rises, with Alan Brady in the back of his car. He is horrified when a young German girl, Charlotte Fischer jogs past and Brady, armed with a gun, bundles her into the car and demands that Terry drive off.
Back at Sun Hill, DCI Jack Meadows is informed about the kidnap and, along with DCs Mickey Webb and Kezia Walker, heads to the hotel where she was staying with her mother, Helen, and stepfather, Karl Wegner. Jack is irritated when his German equivalent and Charlottes godfather, Hajo Trautzchke, questions the family along with DC Ina Zimmermann.
Eventually Jack realises that the taxi firm Terry is working undercover for is involved in the kidnap and that they will have to work closely with the German police in order to get Charlotte home safely.
Elsewhere, Terry attempts to keep Charlotte calm and demands to know from the taxi firm owner, Jimmy Thompson what’s going on. Jimmy tells Terry he’s been hired to exchange Charlotte for money and that the meeting will take place later that day. Terry manages to send Jack a message telling him where to go and Jack immediately mobilizes all units.
Later, in the middle of a packed Piccadilly Circus, Thomson and Terry hold on to Charlotte until Thompson sees the man who hired him, Nick Carson. While walking Charlotte over to him, she manages to break free and runs through the streets of London.
Both English and German police officers run after her in an attempt to get her to safety, but Carson soon catches up with her and bundles her into the back of a car. Terry is stopped in his tracks when Carson’s boss, Viktor Hauptmann, holds a gun to Terry’s head and forces him into the car as well.
Terry and Charlotte are driven to Viktor’s penthouse where Viktor tests the DC but ultimately realises that he can be ‘trusted’. Carson brings Charlotte into the room where Viktor tells Terry he will need to pick up a computer hacker, Jan Maybach at the airport later that day.
Once Terry, Viktor and Jan are altogether, Viktor tells them they will be driving to a different airport and catching a flight to Germany. Sun Hill officers who have been tracking Terry, attempt to reach him as quickly as possible, but as Terry’s plane takes off, he wonders if he will get out alive.
Thursday
Still undercover, DC Terry Perkins steps off the plane in Germany where a furious Viktor Hauptmann tells the group there is a traitor among them. Terrified, Terry remains silent but is horrified when Viktor holds a gun to Nick Carson and shoots him. Now fully aware of what Viktor is capable of, Terry’s only hope is that Sun Hill officers trace him and get him out alive.
DCI Jack Meadows, DCI Hajo Trautzchke along with DCs Mickey Webb, Kezia Walker and Ina Zimmermann travel to the German police headquarters where they discuss what to do. Charlotte Fischer’s stepfather, Karl Wegner, who has travelled with them, takes a call from Viktor who tells Karl to meet him at Leipzig train station with the ransom money in order to release Charlotte.
The operation is set up and the group head to the station to lie in wait. Karl, carrying the bag of money frantically heads to the meeting place but it quickly becomes clear that it has all been a set up.
Back at police headquarters, Jack and Hajo discuss the case and soon reach the shocking conclusion that Karl has been involved all along. When they interview him, Karl breaks down and confesses that he set the kidnap up with Viktor in an attempt to clear his debts with the ransom money. He insists that Charlotte was never meant to be hurt and is devastated by the violent turn of events. Agreeing to help in any way he can, a sting is arranged in the building that Charlotte is being held captive.
With German and English officers surrounding the building, along with CO19, Jack, Kezia and Mickey are horrified when they hear guns go off. Fearing for Terry and Charlotte’s lives, the officers burst in.
Its a crossover with a German cop show "SOKO Leipzig" should be awesome
