View Full Version : Is it worth the U.K entering Eurovision?
I think yes because for me I love Eurovision. It's one of the highlights of the year in music and tv for me, and even if we don't won I love the spirit of Eurovision. But some people say now it's political and neighbourly vothing, (eg. sweeden-finland, uk-ireland, russia-belarus, spain-portugal etc.).
I LOVE EUROVISION~! And seeing as we get an automatic place in the final we shouldn't waste that!

Yeah it's quite good watching us being thrashed by dozens of other countries.

We got a better chance now that a 'judge' system has been put in place so yeah why not?

in 2009. it will be a juding pannel that makes 50% of each countries votes, which kinda stops neighbourly voting
I'm glad the 50% jury vote has been put back into place and that Andrew Lloyd Webber will compose the next song.
It's always good for a laugh. The voting is a joke but hopefully the judging panel next year will create a bit more of a balance.

If she had a personality, yes, but the idea of using someone from the x-factor is a good one. It can't just be watched in the UK

gaawwd ... how many "pop" songs has Andrew Lloyd Webber ever written ... is it zero? Besides I'm sure England have won Eurovision before....if you have a great song there's no reason why you can't again. But old man Andrew Lloyd Webber is hardly up to speed with pop culture and seems to take himself too seriously....

Anyone that takes Eurovision seriously as a representation of European music needs to embrace the real world. It's all camp fun and will never bear any serious influence over popular culture.
