SIMON Cowell is facing a further ribbing — Peter Kay’s X Factor spoof star Geraldine McQueen is making a telly comeback. The porky singer divided opinions after her first flush of fame on Britain’s Got The Pop Factor and Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice.

Despite the mixed reviews, the satirical talent show bagged a bumper 5.5million viewers and now Channel 4 wants more. The next episode is being dubbed “The Winner’s Story” and will follow Geraldine as she copes with her new-found fame. The show — set to air over Christmas — will also follow her as she prepares to launch her Yuletide single, Once Upon a Christmas Song.

An insider said: “Channel 4 were over the moon about the ratings so are champing at the bit for another instalment. “Peter, sorry Geraldine, has already recorded a number of the scenes for the one-off show. It will also feature the Christmas single and its very bizarre video.” Britain’s Got The Pop Factor etc gave Channel 4 its highest audience of the year — beating even Big Brother. The comedy — which ridiculed reality shows — was so top secret that even C4 execs knew little about it before it was aired last month. But it received a mixed reaction from critics and viewers.

Many argued it was just too close to the real thing. Transsexual dinner lady Geraldine told The Sun how X Factor supremo Simon Cowell refused to congratulate her after she won the show. She said: “I thought he might have sent me a bottle of Lucozade or Milk Tray — he hasn’t sent anything. What a shame. I thought he would have sent me something. I hope he likes my song. I hope he buys it. He’s a lovely man, lovely smile.”

But Simon blasted Geraldine as “pathetic” after her Winner’s Song debut at Number Two in the singles chart — one place ahead of last year’s X Factor winner Leon Jackson’s Don’t Call This Love. Both acts missed out on top spot to Pink’s hit So What. Cowell said of 35-year-old Kay: “The single is a pathetic waste of time. He is going to bring out a Christmas single? “I mean c’mon. I don’t feel threatened by him in the slightest.” Of course not, Simon.

I guarantee that the ratings will drop by about 40% and the christmas single will be a flop.
