Digital Spy is to celebrate the reality TV genre with the UK's first ever Reality TV Awards.

The Digital Spy Reality TV Awards will recognise the best and worst moments from shows such as The X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, Big Brother and The Apprentice.

Voting for the awards will open in late December on the Digital Spy site. The winners will be revealed at a star-studded red carpet ceremony in central London in March 2009.

The event will also be filmed and broadcast online on Digital Spy the following day.

The awards will be produced by Hachette Filipacchi UK, which stages the ELLE Style Awards, the annual Inside Soap Awards and the British Design Awards in association with ELLE Decoration.

I highly the doubt it will be star studded.
The biggest celebs will probably be Ant and Dec.

Ant & Dec are pretty big ... but they wouldn't be able to get people like that.

After BB8 out of around 130 housemates for a BB reunion they managed to get about 20

That says a lot really

Some of those shows aren't even "reality TV". They are talent contests.
