WHAT SHE DID WAS A TERRIBLE THINGThe x Factor's Rachel Hylton left a pensioner's wife shaken and terrified when she barged into their home and tried to snatch her handbag.

Hepburne Mair, 68, said: "It really shook Marjorie. She was scared to go out for weeks afterwards. It was a terrible thing."

Hepburne raced to Marjorie's side after hearing her scream - and found her fighting with Rachel, an 18-year-old crack addict at the time. He said: "I was upstairs and I sprinted down and saw her wrestling with a girl trying to wrench her bag from her shoulder.

"Marjorie was hanging on and wouldn't let go."

When Rachel saw Hepburne she fled the North London house. But cabbie Hepburne chased and caught Rachel, holding on until police arrived.

Rachel, now a 26-year-old mum of five, had seen Marjorie walking home and followed her. When Marjorie, who died three years ago of cancer, opened the door Rachel shoved her way inside. Late in court, the junkie admitted attempted theft and got community service and 18 months probation.

Four months later she tried to burgle a house and was sentenced to 18 months in jail.

Soon after her release she breached her bail conditions and was sent back to prison.

Ah Redmoon. DIdnt know you were a selective reader. Maybe you should print the rest of the article, instead of printing half of it (the bad stuff), making it sound like this person is upset that Rachel is on TV!
And maybe you should learn to move on, and forgive, like the victim has!
And dont ever criticize people posting parts of articles, as you just did!

Here is the rest of it BTW!!

But she subsequently turned her life around, getting off drugs and transforming herself into a devoted church-going mum.

Hepburne said when he sees Rachel on the X Factor he finds it hard to believe she is the girl who attacked his wife eight years ago.

He added: "I am amazed this woman is the skinny little drug addict who terrified my wife."

But Hepburne does not bear a grudge. He said: "If she says she has changed people have to believe her."

Rachel said yesterday: "I've never tried to hide my past but obviously I'm hugely remorseful for many actions. I pass on sincere apologies to Mr Mair."

I am amazed this woman is the skinny little drug addict who came into my home and terrified my wife
