Supposedly this laryngitis struck on Tuesday, yet she has just been shown on ITV2 SHOUTING on BONFIRE NIGHT which was Wednesday! Hmm ... :rolleyes:

i just saw that and came to post it surely if she was that ill she'd be wrapped up in bed anyway let alone out in the cold and shouting and she didnt look ill either
If she can shout when she was "diagnosed" then clearly she doesn't have laryngitis in the first place. How is that putting her down? Its stating facts.

And that would have had to have been like 2 days after she felt a bit bad, normally it takes about a week for it to build up and get progressively worse

they wouldnt just have her not compete for no reason...

and she wasnt even wearing a scarf!!
I have chronic tonsillitis and when its even slightly cold i have to wear a scarf because it makes them swell and hurt even more

Hrmm, was there any confirmation that they were out on Bonfire night though? They might have been celebrating a day or two early, you know how people go firework mad around that time (I'm not watching the Xtra Factor, so this might be really dumb.. haha)

no, they said that she SHOULDNT, the doctor can't stop her from singing can he?
and in the VT they [not a doctor, cheryl i think?] said that was because it could permanently damage her voice. Which isn't true.

shes done so many other things that dont suit her voice this week was no different,

But if she came out and sung, and it sounded awful, and half way through she would of probably of stopped singing anyway because it would of hurt what would of been the point in that? She couldn't even talk properly in her VT.

Very true, even if she had sung, and displayed that she had laryngitis - sympathy vote would have ensured she got through. If she had pulled off a performance sounding healthy, she'd be through. Diana was always going to be safe, and her not being there tonight had some kind of knock on effect on the rest of the competition IMO (Laura being in the bottom two)

its an incredibly scripted show and the contestants are told what to say in their vt's. stories from ex contestants come out all the time, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was a board they are looking at when they are being interviewed and it just looks like talking space.
she could have been told to play on it, you never know.

They wouldn't get away with having a false doctor on misdiagnosing her. What would be the friggin' point? She'd have stayed anyway?

also, other than using one of those little cameras they can't actually tell how bad it is. they're inflamed anyway, and the shot you saw of the doc looking down her throat means nothing. if you have a slightly inflamed larynx and you talk croaky they have to diagnose it as laryngitis

She was advised not to do the show... she didn't do it (A good move IMO as its Best of British next week and that will be her week).
Okay she was caught screaming on bonfire night... whatev.
Just because she did that doesn't take away the fact she was ill and she didn't preform... end please... :D

I have tonsilitis a lot due to an operation i had on my throat, nose and ears when I was younger. When I get it, It ussually comes out of the blue, My throat tingles for a day or two and then BAM I'm down and out for a week or two. maybe it was similar for her, a tingly throat for a few days and then the laryngitis?

Not reading the 3 pages of arguing, but Diana had a sore throat on Tuesday, as shown by her video on the site. The laryngitis didn't in fact take proper affect until Thursday.

Don't know if any one has ever noticed but they do have bombfire night displays that aren't actually on bonbfire night...
Besides no one can be sure if she was faking or not so I don't know how you can all be getting so insistant about it.
