I thought it was at 12? But on the telly they are all still marching and its like 12.02 now ?

Is it at 1pm or something? :S x

I always do it every year.. but I have to be at school at 1, and everyone will be making a raquet.. I was hoping it was soon xD :sad:

Its a 2 minute silence at 11. I dunno why it werent on the 11th but its Remembrance Sunday today so yeh.

We have a Remembrance Sunday, which is today.

Then the actual day is 11/11 :thumbs:

I was in the car at the time, but the radio station I was on cut off air at 11am for 2 minutes :spin2:

they do it on rememberance sunday which is the closet sunday to the 11th so today (i was in sainsburys and they did a tanoy annoucement and pretty much everyone was silent)
then if rememberance sunday doesnt fallen on the 11th they do one then at 11am

Originally it was, then the stock exchange, or businesses complained about the disruption caused by this 2 minutes at 11, so they created Remembrance Sunday, and observance on 11 November was dropped, and the vetrans had to make do with the Sunday.

And so it was for a number of decades

Then, prior to 1997, the Royal British Legion made comments that they would really like the Armistice day to return. John Major the prime minister at the time said he would be observing it, and the then leader of the opposition Tony Blair said he would as well. Then a number of big stores said they would observe it.

So Armistice day unofficially returned.

Yeah we did 2 minutes silence at work and are doing another 1 on Tuesday
