Leona Lewis continued her remarkable success last night as she picked up two prize at the World Music Awards.
The 23-year-old former X-Factor contestant was among a host of other British talent to scoop awards at the ceremony in Monte Carlo.
The young star was named Best Pop Female at the event, which honours the best selling acts of the year.
She was also named Best New Act.
She capped a fine night for British acts with Coldplay, Amy Winehouse and Ringo Starr also scooping awards.
Coldplay were handed the gong for Best Rock Act while Winehouse won Best Pop Rock Female.
And Ringo Starr collected the Diamond award on behalf of the Beatles for their contribution to music.
When collecting his award at the end of the night, the former Beatle said: "I'd like to thank my three buddies George, Paul and John.
"I had a lot of help I couldn't have done it on my own. Peace and love."
British singer Sophie Ellis Bextor also attended the event, dressed in a stunning chartreuse dress.
Last week the 29-year-old announced that she and her husband, The Feeling bassist Richard Jones, were expecting their second child.
She is expecting in April and said she was 'delighted' that her four-year-old Sonny will have a brother or sister to play with.
For London-born Miss Lewis, the night was a remarkable achievement considering that only two years ago she was an unknown amateur singer.
Following her win in the third series of the X-factor she has gone on to break a host of records.
Her second single, Bleeding Love was the biggest selling single of 2007 in the UK and topped the charts in thirty countries.
Her first album, Spirit became the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK.
Other winners at the ceremony included Mariah Carey, who won the Lifetime Achievement award.
Beyonce Knowles, who sang on stage to open the show, was also had a successful night when she won Best International Female.
The event was hosted by Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe.
However, the only problem for organisers came when actress Denise Richards, due to co-host the awards missed her flight and was left stranded in the US.
Stars arrived on the red carpet at what is considered one of the most glamorous fixtures in showbusiness.
