X Factor Austin star in town tribute to disabledA TALENT show star will help to raise awareness of issues facing disabled people.
Austin Drage, a finalist in this year’s X Factor, will star in a Basildon show celebrating the International Day of Disabled People on December 3.
The Grays singer will be at St Martin’s Square as part of a packed list of entertainment and activities taking place throughout the day.
The town’s Dial UK and other disability groups will promote awareness equality issues and access to local services.
Other performances will include a guide dog display, a wheelchair assault course for non-wheelchair users, as well as a mixture of plays, music and dance performances, outside the Towngate Theatre.
Councillor Andrew Baggott, cabinet member for community, said: “I’m delighted Austin is joining us in celebrating the contributions disabled people make to our community.”
