This is from todays Daily Star.

Presenter Davina McCall has revealed she was forced to stop tellling evicted housemates that Nadia used to be a man.
The BB front-woman said she recieved a string of complaints from sex-swap patients.
Sexy Davina had revelled in sharing the news about the Portu-geeezer during post-evictions interviews with Emma, Vanessa, Marco and kitten.
But she was orded to refrain from making the announcement during the last two weeks after learning she had upset dozens of 25 years old chain smokers fans.
Speaking live to Chris Moyles on Radio 1 yesterday, she confessed she was bombarded with letters of complaints about the treatment of Nadia. Moyles asked her: "why have you stopped telling housemates that Nadia is a man. that was the best part."
Davina replied: " I have had lot of complaints. It was insensitive to put it how I did and I'm sorry for that."

I don't think she revealed the information in an insensitive way. It was a natural thing to do. Part of the show and something which Nardia must have known would happen before she entered the competition.

Once again it is the pandering to moaners.

I can't agree that this is political correctness gone mad at all I'm afraid. I know a lot of people who were offended by the way Davina broke the news to the other housemates, and from reading other forums it didn't seem to sit well with most people. It was crass, insensitive and childish. Nothing to do with being politically correct, it's just common decency.

The way she broke the news to Daniel was fine. No sniggering, no insensitivity or sensationalism, just a statement of fact. Mind you I have a feeling Mr Bryan would have put her in her place on that score pretty sharpish anyway!

:rolleyes:That's the whole point, it wasn't a "secret" at all, let alone a "nudge nudge wink wink" one! The public knew, she just chose not to tell her fellow housemates - did you actually read this thread before replying btw?

I think that he did and he gave you his opinion. I work in a highly politically correct environment and never once heard anyone complain about the way Davina told the housemates about Nadia. It was very obvious that Davina liked Nadia a lot and wanted her to win but it was also obvious that the public wanted to know if they had guessed as Marco had in the early days Nadias big secret.

I think that before we get in to a bitch fight we should realise that Davina meant no harm by her words and that is the important bit. If she meant to cause Nadia upset then it would have been a different matter but she didnt. When we talk about people being right and wrong I think that we also have to consider their intentions when they say something.:nono:

Then why did he/she say "if she didn't want her secret out?" The secret was already out. It sounds very much like sour grapes from someone whose favourite didn't win. Particularly the "moany cow" and "worst bb winner ever" comment. :nono:

I also work in a highly politcally correct environment, and I DID hear people complaining about Davina's approach. If your experience is different, then fine, but it isn't mine. Davina seems to have taken on board that she was wrong and offended a lot of people, which says a lot. Whether she meant any harm or not is irrelevant, she's shown a lot of insensitivity over the years and it's not really appropriate when dealing with such vulnerable people. (i'm thinking mainly of Bubble, but also Fed - even if he did deserve it!) Perhaps the complaints and letters she has received will make her think a little bit more carefully in future, but she should really have realised in the first place.

Just MY opinion. :xyxwave:
