View Full Version : Diana needs to go.

I absolutely adore her, and wanted her to win so much but it's evident by anyone who isn't blind, that Diana isn't well enough for this competition.
She looked like death tonight and I really don't think keeping her in tonight is the best thing for her.

She has a great voice, and give her credit she got up there and sang despite not feeling 100%. I'm sure it will pay off and I'm positive she'll make it to next week. She shouldn't have to leave because she's not feeling herself. she can recover from sickness but she may not get another chance like this ever again.

I don't know if she should go, but in terms of performances on the night - she should be in the bottom 2.

I do, it was amazing for her to put up a fight, but I don't think it's good for her, to stay. She wont get better if she keeps having to rehearse every day .

Absolutely, but it's not very likely! Ah well, I'm sure she'll be better next week!

Diana sounded exactly like she always has. Pitchy yelpy, out of tune! People using her sickness as an excuse. she always sounded like she did today! For some reason it was OK before, but today its not!
ANyways, Diana aint going anywhere. SHe is rubbish, but she has enough momentum to almost guarantee her a win!
Its afterwards that people will realise how ordinary she is!
she must stay
for the sanity of the show

thats a bit silly realy!
she was still quite ill tonight!
but just the sound of her performance! she still was good
even though she was still quite!
althought it was her weakest!
keeping her tonight is just what she needs to get back in the competition for next week!

she needs to be in the bottom 2 at the very least she sounded exactly the same has she has in previous weeks all up and down and (borrowing from someone else) yodelly

Exactly! Thats whats so baffling to me! People actually think she was different tonight. She wasnt!

Noway should she be in the bottom two, she is still ill, and I thought she gave 100%, not her best, but still really good.
She'll be fine next week and if she can do THAT with a sore throat then she can definitely go all the way and win

yodelly yes thats it cudnt quite put my finger on it.

Yup, I'm so damn tired of her bloody yodelling. I don't see why there's so much hype surrounding her.

Shame she came back, I really enjoyed the week she was ill.... her voice is really getting to me.

I think her style is just brilliant and different to what the X Factor ussually serves up. Her style is kind of like an indy/folkish type and I love it. She reminds me of people like Laura Marling, GoldFrapp (Seventh Tree Style) and others.

Who says she wont be better next week, she'll probably be much more Diana next week, she'll be less ill, fair enough it wasnt the best performance tonight but Eoghan was worse as was Daniel

One poor performance doesnt mean she has to go.

Credit to you Billy, for supporting her rather than just being a faceless fanbase member.
I guess we'll have to see how the next week goes. Severe Laryngitis means it will still be in her system, and if they didn't want her to damage her vocal chords last week, why were they happy for her to ruin them this week?

Did you see her up there? It wasn't the fact it was a poor performance, it was the fact that she looked as though she could collapse at any moment, it was so uncomfortable to watch.

Diana was going to perform regardless, even Simon said tonight that she wasn't well enough.
She wasn't fine at all, anyone saying that is kidding themselves.

If singing last week could've damaged her vocal tract last week, then I think the producers were playing a dangerous game by letting her perform this week too.
I'm not a Diana fan, and I still have my reservations about it being severe laryngitis, but I'd hate to see the girl risk her voice for the rest of her life?

All contestants have had bad days and songs. This was Diana's time, and it was okay imo considering she was ill.

this is what she wants to do, otherwise she wouldnt be fighting to be on that stage!

I know, but it was her decision to perform, she didnt want to leave the competition, she said in her VT, "Im going to perform, voice or no voice"

I appreciate that, but last week their decision not to let her perform was because of the longterm effects of it. Since they since confirmed it was severe laryngitis, means she'd have had it this week too - and again it could cause severe longterm effects.
They shouldn't have let her take that risk.

I know what you are saying..... I think it's more that if she didn't sing she was going go so she had to sing.... and that is how it was put to her.
I don't think she really had any choice but to sing tonight, even if she shouldn't have for her own health.

I'm saying this as unbiased as possible, cos I'm not a fan of hers.
I think if she sings the next few weeks, she will get far in the competition but she's hindering her chances of a career post-xfactor, because it will no doubt do damage to her vocal tract.
If she quits now (which I don't want to say I want her to do, because it will sound like I'm just being bitter LOL) she won't be damaging her voice and I think she has a good chance of a bright career afterwards because she has an existing and loyal fanbase.

Yeah I agree. I'd say he's more of a fan than most people, the fact he's considering her future career rather than getting further on TXF.

I do wonder how long she will a last as a big seller of albums. I can see her doing well for the first album and then a lot of the loyal fans will find something else that's fashionable to like and desert her.
Of course the fan base she is left with will keep buying her stuff and go to see her, but she won't ever equal the success of her first album.
The problem with being contemporary is you can soon become out of date.

Billy, Its good to see you're genuinely concerned for her. It seems she has more genuine fans than I first imagined.
Personally, I think she seemed well enough to produce a better performance. Sick or not sick, her performance was awful. It just shows the judges have climbed so far up her ar*se that only Simon gave an realistic assessment of her performance. For that reason, I think she's still going to win the contest but I dont think she will be a worthy winner.
